I read a road trip musical recommendations article once that suggested reggae as the music of choice for long journeys. Works for me.

When heading to Ft. Myers from The Keys, take Krome Ave. to US 41 Westbound. Much prettier drive than the superslab on Alligator Alley. You'll get to see indian villages, the world's smallest post office, lots of alligators and more of what Floriduh really looks like/used to look like. It's not much longer of a drive, either. You can hop back on I75 as you come back into Naples. Just look at the map and take the road that leads to exit 15.
I've done both and after taking US 41 never drove Alligator Alley to get to the Keys again.

thanks, since we will be stopping over in Key Largo that should give us enough extra time to take the senic route.
