The day before his surprise party , he dug the ceremonial pit and went to pick up the pig at the meat market. While he was gone, she had 3 truck loads of sand dumped and spread in the backyard.
That entire night was a tropical setting straight out of the islands . .that night Memphis, Tn was Negril . .complete with roasting pig , tiki torches and sand between our toes . .
The next day our guests started arriving , marching up the street with plastic pools carried like canoes. Over to the side 3 ring blow-up pools were taking shape. . and the BOI piled up 3 ft tall . . two small pools were set up , one for homemade Sangria and one full of ice cold beer . .
all totaled 18 pools filled the backyard . . and were used as table/chairs and general meet and greet areas. . lawyers and housewives, designer shirts and K-Mart t-shirts sitting in the same pool . . .
It was truly a perfect party . . fun idea to get this summer off to a great start . .
