Comfy Shoes Help

Post by buffettbride »

Hey everyone...in about 3 weeks I will be FINALLY heading to the beach for the very first time. Hubby and I are spending a week in Playa del Carmen :D :D. Tonight I get to go shopping for vacation clothes. It's the first time I've been excited about shopping in a LONG time, as I've recently lost about 12lbs :D :D :D and get to wear one size smaller than I have for over a year.

BUT....I have horrible problems with feet :-? :-? . Shoes just aren't very comfortable, and I want to make sure that I have a comfy pair of summer shoes to wander around in, especially if we head into town from the resort. I also suffer mildly of neuropathy, a pre-diabetic condition which makes my feet sometimes feel like I'm standing on coals :-? :-? :-? , although it has somewhat subsided with the weight loss, it's very important for me to have comfy (but cute) shoes.

Any suggestions or recommendations? Would be MUCH appreciated for my aching tootsies!

BB:
Get a light pair of walking shoes 1/2 size larger than you normally wear, and put a Dr. Scholl's foot pad (available at your local Target, Wal Mart, or K-Mart) in each one. That should help a lot. The key is-get a pair of LIGHT walking shoes.

And have fun on your vacation. You've earned it, and you deserve it.

Are you more likely to wear shorts or a skirt? Do you "do" heels at all?

I have issues with finding comfortable shoes, too. I've found a couple of brands that are reliably comfortable, breath well, and I can walk in for hours (the heels of my feet and my ankles hurt like a bugger; broken them several times and still aren't right). Depending on how much you want to spend, hopefully these will help. I own a fair amount of the different models. They wear very well and really don't have any problems walking for really long lengths of time in them. The smacker model with a pair of padded insoles is my favorite if I'm going to be on my feet for hours.

personally I love mesh shoes for vacations - you can dress them up or down and get a couple of styles/and or colors. they're lightweight and breathe easily cause of the mesh

they are sooooo comfy. I have them in black and wore them for three days in vegas, walking all day. I actually didn't have more than a slight ache in my left ankle. It was great! They breathe so well too. Very soft, very flexible, most of the time they just feel like really soft slippers.
