How much would you spend to see a private show? (PER PERSON)
Considering the possibility of pulling off a private BNers show with Jimmy Buffett, what is a realistic amount of money you would consider spending?
THIS POLL IS FOR A PER PERSON $$ FIGURE!
No matter where the show is, there will be costs associated with it. Travel, Food, Lodging, ticket prices etc....
How much is a real amount of cash would you and your spouse, significant other, family put towards an event like this?
We are in the infancy stages of the planning of this event and need a realistic idea of how many people would actually consider making this a priority. So, please be honest.

It's Saturday....no one's probably up yet:)ToplessRideFL wrote:hmmm so far if this event costs 1 million, I am in for $200,000 ...PLUS travel!
Guess it will be in my backyard! LOL
Thinking about it more, there are probably BNers who have members of their family or whatnot that would definitely go who aren't members of BN, so that may definitely help out a lot (I know I have at least 5 family members who would go in a heartbeat), so I really think this a do-able thing:) I'm actually kind of excited it might even be possible.
Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all..

Since everyone would be on their own for travel, food, etc, think the real question is how much would you spend for the tickets? How much up front?
I don't know that I could put a real dollar on what I'd be willing to spend without knowing venue, how many people would be at the show, when is it?, etc.
With that being said, I'd expect to pay at least what I've paid to see JB in the past.

In the original thread, it was suggested early on, that this venture could get BNrs what they really want. An affordable show (less than what we are currently paying for tickets), just BNrs and parrotheads, with out the sclapers, brokers, and corporate stick in the mud front row hogging sponsors. A show for the phans by the phans. And Jimmy still gets his $$$. Come on Jimmy, you gotta be reading this.Limes&Parrots wrote:Since everyone would be on their own for travel, food, etc, think the real question is how much would you spend for the tickets? Ditto. I'd have to know more details. If there's 30,000 people going, it's not worth as much. But if it were only 10,000 or less. I'd be willing to spend more. But overall I would say $300-500 per seat and work from there depending on total audience size.Limes&Parrots wrote:Since everyone would be on their own for travel, food, etc, think the real question is how much would you spend for the tickets? I voted for $100-$500 but with travel cost it would probably be over that.. AS LONG as I had enough time to plan I'm sure I could come up with the $$$

Holy big avator batman! Anyway, being in law school, as long as we had PLENTY of advanced notice, i may be able to pull off between $500-$1000, but we'd all want plenty of advance notice to get the cash together!! But how cool would that be!!!! Maybe we'll get like a parrothead disount or something. I can dream, can't I????

I'm picturing 15,000 of us ALL with out BN lanyards on.
I agree with RAGTOP(as much as it pains me
). I would be willing to shell out big bucks for an intimate show like the Long Island Montessori, but for a big venue, I would only want to pay standard price.

I'm with lot of you. I would spend a ton of money to see him, but could I afford to? Not without alot of advance notice and saving up. Things are tight in this world these days.
When you had a basic figure pinned down and a date, I'm sure alot of us could committ if it was a year in advance with a under 500 dollar total price to get there and be present.

Good point...but the original idea for the thread was to get an idea how many people would actually travel. We established that tickets should be reasonably priced. (Under $100) So the poll was intended to see what people will pay..all total. That will give us an idea how far they would travel.Limes&Parrots wrote:Since everyone would be on their own for travel, food, etc, think the real question is how much would you spend for the tickets?
