BN concert venue ideas
I know a lot of them have been flying around, and we have already hit 29 [pages on the other thread, so figured I would give this it's own thread to help keep organized.
A few options for MA,
http://www.paultsongasarena.com/overview.asp seats 7,500 it's indoors, but it's a newer venue, very nice.

seats 5,000 and absolutely amazing to see a concert. Also lists private events on website

If this show could get pulled off, the perfect venue for him to play would be the beach at Mandalay Bay in Vegas. For those not familiar with it, there's a stage that extends into the pool at the property. The first rows of the crowd are actually in the water and than there's room for another 3000+ on the beach. Here's one picture of the stage....I'm going to try and find a better one though.

It truly would be the ultimate parrothead venue though!

How 'bout the Coast of Carolina????
What could be better than a private Buffett concert in Myrtle Beach? Maybe a private Buffett concert in a brand new outdoor amphitheater (15,000 seat capacity) in the middle of a rock n roll themed amusement park in Myrtle Beach perhaps??
Central to both Florida and Northeast PHs, plenty of hotels on the beach, family entertainment, and two of their newest restaurants include Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise!
Hard Rock Park, a new rock ‘n roll theme park, plans to open at Myrtle Beach in 2005. Hard Rock Theme Park will feature a giant reproduction of the Hard Rock’s trademark electric guitar, a steep-loop roller coaster and other family-friendly rides, featuring rock ‘n roll music. It will also have an outdoor 15,000-seat concert venue for live shows. The Park will be a $200 million, 150 – acre amusement park located off Highway 501 at the Waccamaw River Bridge in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. For more information, contact Steven Goodwin via email at steven@hrpusa.com.

The Myrtle Beach spot sounds great. Great location. Plus the park and beach would give everybody a great place to hang out and make a nice long weekend of it. The weather there would make it nice most of the year too. This gets my vote as best choice yet.
Plus with it being a new venue they might love the idea of a big event as a promo and give us a break on price in exchange for the name recognition.

It needs to be a place that is easily accessable from ALL parts of the country. Think major city with flights coming from many different cities. Just you use one example: Nashville, people from the West Coast might need to take 3 flights to get there, and the cost of the tickets would be through the roof. We need a city that most people would have a non-stop flight available to them.
Vegas would work, but I think the venue costs would be very exspensive.
I would have to say major city in the Northeast or Florida for two reasons. Large majority of BN'ers are in those two spots. Easy to get flights to. And last, and maybe most importantly, ease of getting Jimmy to say yes, and least amount of cost to get him there (he has houses in both areas).

Just wondering what you guys think of Red Rocks outside Denver? Denver has the 5th largest airport in the US, so I'm sure it's accessible non-stop from many places.
I even bet they have non-stops from Boise for RagTopW.

I like the idea of Nashville. It's a fairly centralized location in the country, band members are closer, and you never know who might pop in to suprise us...photogal wrote:I think we should shoot for someplace in the middle of the country so not everyone has to fly so far. How about Nashville? And doesnt most of the band live around there? Would cut down on their travel and lodging expences the MF mentioned?
