It is actually 33 years. And even if it were 157 years no one would care any less. This is a baseball town (then football...).JustDucky wrote:They bash The Rolling Stones? How lame. Boston? I dunno. Maybe it's because it's cold for 11 1/2 months out of the year up there. Or because the Bruins haven't won a Stanley Cup in 157 years. Now that the Sox have won, they have other losing teams to fuel their displeasure for where they live.
Chris Russo is a freakin' moron. He couldn't find his own ass with both hands and a map if you gave him a 3 day head start.jonesbeach10 wrote:... Chris Russo (the Mad Dog) ... more classy and knowledgeable
Let me rephrase, Mike is better than Chris, who can be a moron, I know. But Chris is a riot when he goes on a rant though. Plus it beats Dan Patrick and Michael Kay on ESPN. Usually I'm listening to JB anyway during their time slot.LIPH wrote:Chris Russo is a freakin' moron. As for the weather; I personally would take Boston weather over any other city in the country. Maybe I am bias, I LOVE the fact that we experience the best of all four seasons. You get snow and cold from December to March. Then you have great spring weather for April and May. Followed by perfect summer weather (not too hot) from June to September. Then finally finish up with the quinisential autumn season with picturesque foliage.
For me personally I couldnt enjoy the summer weather without experiencing the cold of winter (and vice-versa with enjoying winter). Yes it gets cold during the winter; but it toughens you up and makes you enjoy summer even more.
I spend most of May and up till September relaxing on the beaches of Cape Cod and I honestly would not trade any other type of weather for my New England weather... but then again we all have out own opinions
I'm surprised , The Fan reaches more listeners and has a stronger signal. Also The Mike & The Mad Dog show is on The Yes network which is national if you have the dish.Don Imus is syndicated.I have a hard time believing that WEEI is #1.mexcooker12 wrote:Thats actually not true. It's the # 1 sports radio station in America and it is here in Boston. It is the best sports talk I have ever listened to.
Over the past few weeks I have been listening to Dennis & Callahan (the sports morning talk show) and for some reason they will randomly bash Jimmy for no reason. This hating culminated yesterday when they literally spent hours of their show bashing Jimmy and his fans; calling all of parrotheads "pathetic losers."
Now mind you this is a VERY successful sports show/station. Can someone explain why people (specifically these two sports talk guys) would hate on Jimmy and his loyal fans? What is it about Jimmy that makes alot of people (at least I have found) really dislike Jimmy?
Also, I think it would be funny if we put a group of phriendly e-mails to these guys asking them why they hate Jimmy so much. Here is their e-mail address. Again, nothing nasty, but these guys love getting funny e-mails so if we could do that I think it would be cool.
Also, click on the WEEI link and you can listen to the show live. Dennis and Callahan is every weekday 6-10 AM

I listen to all 3 . Mike & mike on Espn in the morning. flip between Weei & Wfan between 10 & 2 , i don't like Holly on Weei and i'm not a big Sid & joe fan. Drive time its Mke 7 the Mad Dog.I just listen to who's more entertaining and talking about something i care about. Also non of these sports talk radio stations would be where they are today if it wasn't for Wfan and Mike & the Mad dog.Capttony wrote:yup....your right.....weei does beat out all others in the ratings. They have for the past 2 years. The Fan, although popular in NY, does not get the ratings WEEI gets....sorry NY fans we beat you again...( oh come on were use to losing, gotta let us brag a bit
there's a reason that dennis and callahan are not a #1 show and its becasuse of 3 words.....lack of intelligence.
They are the most uneducated, opinionated people on the radio that i've heard in quite awhile (imus is a close 2nd)
When WFAN started, one of the original hosts was a guy named Pete Franklin. He was a psycho. A caller would say something he disagreed with and he would say "You, my good man, are a scumbag."tequilatom wrote:[Also non of these sports talk radio stations would be where they are today if it wasn't for Wfan and Mike & the Mad dog.

You got that right Mike. Of course we are all biased about where we're from....but I really do love the change of seasons up here. I was down in Florida the week before Christmas this past year and it just didn't seem right. People have wreaths and plastic santa's on their lawns and its 90 degrees....I felt out of place. Just didn't seem like Christmas to me.
My only request would be....maybe 1 less month of cold weather. Spring, summer, and fall are all great....and the first half of winter is fine. But I'm usually dying for spring once March comes along.

Do you live at Monument Beach? I live on the Cape all summer when I get out of school (which was last week); more specifically North Falmouth. I was actually at Monument Beach at the Whistle Stop last night with a friend. Great area over there.
I would but I assume it is 21+.
