C'mon Jenny!

Just cuz Aussieland hasn't even launched a koala into orbit yet,
it doesn't mean you can't relax and imagine a koala wearing an Imperial stormtrooper outfit!

I now have official proof that there are real stupid and oblivious people on this planet:

Yesterday, I saw Ep. III for the second time. After the film was done and I was walking out of the theater, there were 2 girls in, I guess about their 20s walking behind me who were talking about how they couldn’t believe the way the movie ended. So I thought, ok, so they expected the story would be left off at more “happier” launch pad to the original trilogy. Yeah, I know that sounds crazy, we all knew what was going to happen at the end, but get this:

The next words that came out of one of their mouths were “Are they going to make a #4? Man! I can’t believe the way they ended it! I sure hope they make a #4!” :o :o :o The other one just keep answering “I know, I know!” in a real dumb sounding tone.

I wonder how long it’s going to take these girls before they realize the continuation their looking for has been out for 28 years and is as close as the nearest place that sells media. Will they ever find out what happens? If they have been oblivious to the trilogy for this long and were introduced to Star Wars form the prequals, I don’t see much hope here.

But please, even if you haven’t seen any of the installments to the original trilogy, how could you not recognize the mask and costume of Darth Vader? I mean, he’s been all over the place since 1977! :-?

Riighht. The girl I had an educated Star Wars conversation with at my senior brunch suits my taste just a little (no, a lot) better. Had I tried to explain to the girls at the movies the concept of a prequal and the fact that the movies their looking for are already in existence, they would probably had looked at me as if I was trying to explain to them the final chapter in a Calculus text book.

Come on, if they were that oblivious to it all now, (as Obi Wan says,) they really are lost.

a) there is no such thing as an "educated Star Wars conversation".

b) you need a bit more of a sense of humour I see...

c) You could have used the conversation to break the ice...

a) Disagree. I’m not a SW nerd or anything, but I do find it fun talking in the frame of the universe.
b) No, certainly not. Hence I said “Riightt” not “WTF are you trying to say to me”? But this is a message board, and there is no tone of voice to be heard, so I could understand why you would say that.
c) Break the ice to whom?

This is a link to see Triumph's segment with the nerds waiting for "Attack of the Clones" 3 years ago on Conan, the funniest thing I've ever seen on his show.

btw... saw Ep 3 for the first time last night. I'm not the typical Star Wars geek like most folks... I actually loved Eps 1 & 2... 3 was just so sad & tragic! :( But it was cool how it tied everything together. :D

I still think the fight between Darth Maul & Qui-gon in Ep 1 was the coolest fight ever.
