Bachelorette Party help!!!!

Post by finz83 »

I was reading thru the "need help planning a bachelor party" thread and thought maybe I could get some help. My friend is getting married in August, we are having the bachelorette party in late July. Here is my dilemna, my friend and I are in charge of planning, the bride has given strict rules for the party ( her mother just told me to call if we get arrested, now I wouldn't do that :o , she will be there in the beginning and then leave):
1. No strippers
2. No veils/sashes, s*** for a buck
3. No games
4. No drunkfest

Ok now what, we go to dinner and go home.........tupperware party :o :pirate:
I am not into the stripper thing, that is fine, but it is your last night as a single woman, let's have some fun! She has under 21 members in the party, so we definitely have to do dinner or something can involve the minors.

My recent thought is dinner then the comedy club. If we tell the comedian she is a bachelorette, we aren't responsible with what happens from there, right? Whatever we come up with we do not want to make her mad, we are both in the wedding. Other thoughts were s** toy party, casino, clubs(but she does not want to get drunk, nor do we want her mad at anyone that drinks too much), psychic. Any advice????

If friends are under 21, the stripper thing might be out anyway. However, my suggestion would be to find a new friend or delegate the party planning to another person. That way you couldn't be held responisble in case there did happen to be a drunk fest.

Were you planning on having a dinner and then something else for the over 21 crowd? Because almost all the things your brought up require folks to be over 21. :-?

Here's a few ideas...

-A Spa Party
Get the girls who are coming to the party to chip in for a couple of salon professionals to stop by and do mani-pedi-facial treatments (A Mary Kay lady is a good choice, too!)

Serve light drinks like champagne or virgin daquiris (with an option to spike)
Food like veggies and fresh fruits
Give "pampering gifts" like robes, nice slippers, and spa products.

-A Palm Party
Hire a psychic, palm reader or tarot reader to come over, set up a seperate "ambient room" for each girl to have a private reading, set the mood with lots of candles, incense, and red-toned lighting.
For decorations you could put out a ouija board, a deck of tarot for honing in on each girl's talent for the black crafts...

Serve red wine, a selection of juices, fruit and cheeses

-A Luau!
(I'm sure you can figure this one out)

Serve fruity drinks (virgin or spiked), tropical fruits, mini crab-cakes.

-A Wine Tasting
Inquire at your local winery about hosting a private tasting at your place, rent yourself a wine snob, purchase several bottles of wine, serve cheese and crackers and giggle that you tasted 12 different types of wine.

A couple of girls at work ask me what I'm doing there... that I should be an event coordinator/planner. So it's just funny that you said that! :)

I'm planning a babyshower for my girlfriend who isn't due until January... but I've got a couple of months to get it all together!

My intial thought after hearing all the rules was to pass it on to someone who wasn't so fun, but we have been friends for a very long time, so there was no way i could say no

Yes we have to do dinner, then something for the over 21 crowd. I also need to come up with tasteful party games to play at dinner, where there will be minors.

As CAT EYES said earlier, DK these are great ideas, thank you very much. You should really think about making that a side job. My other friend talked to her over the weekend. I think it is between the psychic and the toy party, and we are going to dinner before hand.
