I never saw the poll thread.
No one is being forced to donate. If you don't want to, don't.
But it seems to me plenty of people are more than happy to support their addiction, and are happy to finally have an easy way to do it.

Only phjim knows what he needs.
When the bandwidth used to get used up, shutting BN down at the end of the month for days at a time, many people would ask what we could do to help. Now we have an answer... just click on the PayPal donate button at the top of the page.
Or like phjim said in the thread, ordering through the Amazon link up top helps too.

no, certainly no one has to donate a penny, but for those who would like to help support this site, we've been given the opportunity to do so.
