High fructose corn syrup is glucose and fructose, heavy on the fructose. Refined sugar is sucrose, which in acidic aqueous solution (e.g your stomach) breaks down into ... glucose and fructose. Glucose and fructose have exactly the same calories, fructose is slighly sweeter so they can use less to get the same sweetness.

You're so right. I was eating a saltine cracker a few weeks ago and the second ingredient listed was high fructose corn syrup! What's up with that????? I get Mott's juice boxes for my son which does not have any added sugars. I don't think that Libby's juice has it either but youd'd have to check to be sure.

I started the South Beach diet about 10 days ago. On day 5 I had lost 4 1/4 lbs. I need to get back on the scale again this Friday.

How often do y'all excercise? For the first 6 weeks, I tried to lift/run up to 5 times a week. Now I cut it back to 3-4 x a week. Still see the same results. 8)
Carbs are good unless you are diabetic. I'm type 2 so i really watch my carbs. You have good carbs/bad carbs. I have a high protein diet with a lot of vegetables. I try to work out at least 4 days a week. Dependening on travel.

Well everyone I made it.

Today I weighed in at 209lbs, my goal was 210. I started April 1 at 242.

It can be done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, where is the beach......... :D :D
