NO TAILGATING AT NISSAN PAVILION

For those Parrottheads who have purchased and are going to the June 15 concert at the Nissan Pavilion in Manassas, VA. Please go to the following website: http://www.nissanpavilion.com/Buffett_Information.htm
One of the best things about a concert other than enjoying the concert itself is the ability to tailgate and meet folks. Well, Nissan has kicked that. Parrottheads Unite!! This is awful. :(

I have gone to Nissan a few times, and they always put out this 'NO' list every year. I doubt anything has changed.

they originally said no last year.........but did that stop us?? NO!!!

It was my first time to go to Nissan and I must say this - driving out after the show (and we were some of the last to leave) I was completely amased by the amount of TRASH the parrotheads left behind. It was horriable!!! I'm not talking trash in bags to be picked up - I'm talking whole tiki bars, swimming pools, furniture.

I didn't catch it either. That just looks like a list of things you can't bring into the venue--not necessarily the parking lot. AND they encourage you to arrive early...so how can one not tailgate if ya get there at noon!!!

They had the same rules last year for the show. We paid our $20.00, were about the 7th car in the lot at noon, and spent all afternoon tailgating. We had grills, large umbrella, beach chairs, about 20 bags of sand and plenty of Corona. The only time anything was said to us was when a couple of cops "advised" one of us to put the beer in a holder. This was early on, and as the afternoon progressed, we didn't notice any of the listed restrictions being enforced. I would imagine that this year will be more of the same. They know we're going to party, that's why they open up early, for a fee.

The no booze thing at Jones Beach had nothing to do with the concert. The beach is a state park and it's against the law to have alcohol in a state park in NY.

Nissan Tailgaters:
Please enjoy yourselves, and don't worry needlessly.
But follow reasonable steps to ensure everybody's safety and comfort.
For example, a plastic cup will not shatter when dropped on the pavement.
(Nor will it attract the eye of authorities.)
Trash that is placed in trash bags will not atract attention from pests.
(It also conceals your beverage choices.)
A grill that is extinguished will not burn anybody.
(One that is still smoking will ensure a return trip by passing patrols.)
People will notice if you are taking precautions to avoid problems.
(That will preclude them from causing problems for you.)

That is just ludicrous that someone would post information like that. I've been to Nissan several times and there has ALWAYS been partying in the lots for many hours before the concert.

I have my tickets in hand and will be arriving at noon on June 15th for the annual "No tailgating" tailgate party! :D

lol don't freak me out! :o There will be a tailgate if I can help it.

Actually, my lawn questions yesterday related to Nissan after reading thier rules. They are insane.

Can't wait though!!!!

Pour your drinks in a plastic cup and keep your grills out of the road. Do that and the cops at Nissan won't bother you at all.

Wish we could make it this year, but we're going to the Washington PH club's 4th of July festivities and really couldn't afford two trips and I don't have enough leave time to stay all the way from June 15-July 4.
