Also what you can do, is request a PIC freeze from your local phone company which will block the LD from your line (for a monthly fee). You can also probably find an LD plan that has a low monthly fee but a higher per-minute rate. Won't really matter because you'd be making LD calls from your cell.
PIC....? Panties In Crack? I get that a lot.
Do not resent growing old. Many are denied the privilege.

No; I know that Verizon has the service available, but only on a few phones and with a fee.
Those damn direct connect things are annoying. Every time I hear that beep, it makes want to find the nearest blunt object and club the owner like a baby seal.

your clubbed seal references always crack me up
What I hate is when people cannot cut their phones off in restaurants or movies.
Or the dorks holding up their phones during the Buffett show, letting their friends hear, taking pics or whatever the heck they're doing
Would it kill them to go a while without it?

Amen to that. Add to that list the idiots who don't know how to exit their cars without setting off the alarm...then spend the next 15 minutes trying to figure out which of the 3 buttons on their remote shut it off!

I can exit the car but sometimes I forget to turn the alarm off and just reach for the door when I walk up to it BUT I KNOW which button on my remote to use to shut it off.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

I think that they are using them instead of lighters...
That was my guess anyway... I don't think that there are that
many people holding up their phones so that other people
can hear the concert... are they????
Some people are like Slinkies.
Not really good for anything, but you still can't help but
smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

I used to work for Sprint too! I loved working there!
They have great coverage, as well.
Sprint has pole dancers?
I plead the 5th!
- As for the Long Distance on the home phone... in some markets Sprint has a plan where if you have their cellphone servce they have a long distance plan that is free if you don't use it (as in no fee) If you use it there is like a $2 fee but the 1st 50 minutes are included in the $2 fee... i'm in Florida and I am not sure this promotion is in all markets.

I have a Motorola v600 on Cingular, I really, really like it, but Cingular dosen't carry it anymore (in lieu of the v551 and RAZR), my advice if you're buying a new phone is to get one that is Bluetooth compatable any of the 3 phones I mentioned have it. If you want a really cool toy, get the RAZR. Of course, if you wanted to go with T-Mobile, you could get the phone I have, since they still carry it.

I've gotten calls from a show for a song!
shoot, I've made those calls during a couple of the special concerts... Oddly enough, my phone got a bit of workout during the Peter Mayer show hijacking in KW last Nov...
