Ladies....Need nail polish advice...

Post by buffettbride »

Goin' in for the pre-vacation manicure/pedicure tonight...

What are the cool colors this season? I hardly ever paint my nails so I have no clue what's cool.

Bring it, girls...and Troy.

That's what I'm thinkin'. :D Gotta buy the bottle of polish they use so I can touch up. I'm sure the sand will do a number on the paint job.

I always go for the french tips.. even on my toes. I think it looks classy. If your looking for a color .. OPI does good!

I keep my nails very short, so it doesn't look all that great on my hands. I used to LOVE the American tips (kinda like French, only different) when I kept them long.

I'm undecided about the look on toes, though. At first I thought it was freaky but a gal at a wedding a few weeks ago had them and they looked pretty good. Opinions? Anyone?

i usually go for pinks... right now i've got a hot pink on my toes... get a bold color on your toes and a lighter shade on the fingers.. that's usualy what i do. i don't ever match my toes to my fingers. i may be going for a pedicure as well tonight. i leave for florida next friday so i need to get it done. Maybe I'll wait till right before though so it will last for Florida and my 3 buffett concerts starting June 17th. need to have pretty toes for Buffett!!

How come Troy got invited and I didn't? :-? I've paid for enough manicures and pedicures for my fiance to warrant a response. :P

My fiance always picks the color that has the least amount left in the bottle. Her reasoning is that that color is obviously the most popular.

Wow! My sentiments exactly! I pushed this to one of the last things "to do" before the trip, plus I'm buying the bottle so I can touch up before Buffett on the 15th. I don't think my toes and fingers have ever matched. I tend to go with kind of fuschia/magenta tones, although there's a pretty killer chrome blue I like a lot too...but I think that was a few seasons ago.

Hey BB,
I just went for a Mani/Pedi on Monday. My first in a looooong time.
I too have short nails, and I had them put a color called
"Bubble Bath" on my finger nails. It's a really pale pink, and looks
like a french manicure.
Then just go crazy on the toe color, you're on vacation!!!! :D
Some people are like Slinkies.
Not really good for anything, but you still can't help but
smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Ooooooooooooh "Bubble Bath" sounds fantastic! Thanks kimbug! I love PINK!!! And it will match a lot of the outfits I bought for the trip.

I'm seriously considering the french tips for the tootsies. Either that, or the chrome.

save your money. the best nail polish solvent i've seen is sand and saltwater.

all the wenchs had their nails done for our sailboat trip, a week later everyone of their fingers and toes were stripped clean of paint...

I'd feel bad for you, but I have no soul.....

See, that's why I'm really struggling with this. I want them to be painted for Nissan, but I'm sure they'll go through havoc the week prior in Mexico.

I'm so confused.

That's why I don't paint them on a regular basis. Too much freakin' work.

I would have to disagree. I did my own before I went to Hawaii in April,
and it was still on there on Monday before my pedicure.

It just depends....

Oh, by the way BB - "Bubble Bath" looks great on tan hands!!!! 8)

Yep. You must use OPI. Just reading the names of the colors cracks me up.
