If you were a kid in the late 70's
check out this on ebay. Real clackers I think. Do you remember bruising your knuckles with these? Did you ever have one break? Do you remember your parents or grands taking them away and then them getting banned. Suddenly all the parents had a valid reason to take them away from us. I sure missed my clackers. http://search.ebay.com/clackers_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8

I'm pretty sure the original Klackers were the ones with glitter..mine were lime green. I think the ones they are calling "vintage" on ebay are the ones that came out much later. The originals had bigger balls.pbans wrote:When we moved my Mom out of her house, I found my KLACKERS in the basement....beautiful blue with GLITTER. I sucked at clackering......

I soon as I read what this post was about I could hear that clacking noise in my head. Takes me back to my grandparents farm in South Dakota.
You can still get a variation of them now, but they are rubber and you know it just isn't the same. As someone else said, no element of physical danger. What fun is that?!

I've got coastal confessions and a few more, how about you?

That's about when I would have gotten mine....probably 71-73 somewhere. I know I was still in grade school. I was such a packrat...still have a lot of my toys....have a big box of cool stuff I like to look at every one in a while!Brown Eyed Girl wrote:I'm pretty sure the original Klackers were the ones with glitter..mine were lime green. Anyone ever have those wrestling figures that were made completely of soft rubber?
One day when I was 10 years old or so, two of them were having a match where the loser got his head shaved... Well, the most effective way to shave the head of a rubber figurine is to use a razor blade and cut away the hair... Needless to say, I slipped... 8 stitches and a whole lot of bleeding later, I was all patched up!! Still got a sweet scar across the back of my index finger to prove it!

Awww, I'm sorry.....you can come to my house and play with my Buffy & Mrs. Beasley ANYTIME! We moved a lot, but somehow my toys always survived......Brown Eyed Girl wrote: Just think, Paige..we could have been klacking together! My cousins and I all had them, both blue and lime green glitter...I got to be quite the pro. Sure wish I had hung on to them but I'm sure they go thrown out in the move...along with my Buffy and Mrs Beasley dolls...
