Definitely don't build it in your basement!

I think it would be cool to build one using only vintage era materials.
(Like buffalo hide and willow branches.)
But Kevlar, fiberglass and pre-stressed aluminum are neat too.

I helped a friend build a 2 person row boat once. He drew the plans, bought the materials and I basically did what he told me to do. It was fun to take it out to the lake, smash a bottle of very cheep champaigned over the bow, and take it accross the lake and down a creek on it's maiden voyage. As far as cost, I had not idea but it will always be a fond memory.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.
