A Little Bit of ParrotHead In All Of Us! (Sad Story)

Post by Mplsfins »

Yesterday I had to bury my 24 year old nephew who succombed to alcohol poisoning on Monday. John was not a big drinker and was just celebrating his birthday with his twin brother, sister and a few neighbors. When his brother went to check on him in the morning he was dead and had choked on his vomit.
Trying to cope last night I went for a 2 hour drive in my convertible with my ipod listening to Jimmy's music. John's life paralled so many of Jimmy's songs yet he himself was not a ParrotHead. Pacing the Cage, Defying Gravity, even Margaritaville as it is "noboddy's Fault"
Please all of you be careful all the time if you are drinking and if somebody offers you a shot and you think you shouldn't have it don't.
John was offered one on his way to bed and at first he said no but then was peer pressured into it cause "Hey man it's your birthday"

Thanks for letting me share this sad story and if it makes one of you think what you are doing while you are out drinking please be careful it could happen to anybody.

Jason

p.s. Yes I do partake once in awhile and am not against drinking and blowing off steam.

This is one reason I have cut back on my drinking as I have gotten older and also why I very rarely ever drink liquor anymore. This among other health related problems.

Deepest condolences.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your story. It's a story we've become all to familiar with in Colorado and our college students this year.

I'm so sorry to hear this.
I'm glad the Buffett music helped you, though.
Thanks for reminding us all how important it is to actually "think" even when we are least inclined to do so.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. So sad. But, as Auntie said, am heartened that Jimmy's music helped.
