What Would You Do? (Ebay Tickets)
I bought some tickets to the Pittsburgh show off ebay last Wednesday from a seller with a perfect feedback rating and over 80 positive feedback messages. As soon as the auction ended, I sent the payment via Paypal, and I swapped e-mails with the seller. She responded immeditaely; it was almost like instant messaging. She said that she would probably ship them on Friday.
On Saturday morning, I sent her an e-mail asking if she had a chance to ship the tickets. I explained to her that I was just wanting to get an idea as to when to expect them. As of today, I have gotten no e-mail reply and no tickets in the mail.
I am confident that with her high feedback rating and immediate response to my initial e-mail that there is a reasonable explanation. After all, if she shipped the tickets Friday, it may even be too soon for them to be here yet. And, as far as not replying to my second e-mail, I understand that people don't live on the computer. Heck, I don't live on the computer myself. She could easily be out of town and not have e-mail access.
But, in the back of my mind, I can't help being a little concerned. After all, it is Buffett tickets we're talking about here, and it's 19 days till the show. And, three full days have passed with no reply to my e-mail.
I'm a little new to ebay, and I know there are a lot of ebay veterans that post here. If you were in this situation, what would you do? Do you think I'm being paranoid, or should I be really concerned? Thanks in advance.

Did you use the buyer protection offered by PayPal?
There's a little recourse there if you did... I'd give her another day, and then I'd start emailing her every hour, on the hour, asking about your tickets.

Re: What Would You Do? (Ebay Tickets)
It may not make you feel any better, but I have been screwed on a couple of auctions over the years, and since Paypal instituted their new policies, I haven't had any problems getting my money back. Takes a little bit of time, but I've always been refunded everything.
I have also found that when I want an answer the most and I'm panicking, is exactly when the person ends up having a personal emergency, and ends up not being around to answer my emails. If they have perfect seller rating, I'd give it another day before panicking (easier said than done). Ebay also has buyer protection as well.

I wouldn't stress over it. I do quite a bit of transactions on eBay (both as a buyer and a seller). I've noticed that the higher the feedback number, the less responses you will get because they have so many auctions going on. Many "Power Sellers" only send a couple e-mails regarding payment terms and then sometimes one with a tracking number. Like DonnaK said, give it a few days.

OR... She may have gone out of town for the weekend, may have taken a 3 day weekend..... i wouldn't worry about it dude... If you haven't heard from her by tomorrow, I'd send another e-mail... It's also possible that she missed the email....

Most of the Buffett tickets i've gotten have been off ebay, with no problems so far...and most close to face valuecitcat wrote:And please come back to this thread to update it when you either get them or don't, I'm also curious as to how Ebay buying tickets works.

I've rarely had a problem with anything on ebay.....guess I've just been lucky (now I've probably jinxed myself).FinzEast wrote:Most of the Buffett tickets i've gotten have been off ebay, with no problems so far...and most close to face valuecitcat wrote:And please come back to this thread to update it when you either get them or don't, I'm also curious as to how Ebay buying tickets works.

I was going to say the same exact thing. Give it a few days, I'm sure everything will be fine.land_shark3 wrote:I wouldn't stress over it. What method were they shipped?
If they were shipped via UPS or USPS--Priority Mail or anything with delivery confirmation, you can track the whereabouts of your package. If you can, get the info from the seller. If you did not get a confirmation as part of your shipping fees, always do this! It's worth the extra $0.30.

I've bought tons of stuff off e-bay (including Buffett tickets) and I've never had a problem with anything I purchased.....
I did have one seller who forgot to send an item, but when I sent an e-mail asking about when it had shipped she immediately replied with an apology and said it had slipped through the cracks. It was in the mail the next day....
I know that there can be problems and I've heard of people who have had difficulties, but all in all e-bay seems to me to be a very safe way to purchase stuff.....
Hopefully you will hear from your seller soon

I sell quite a bit on Ebay too, and I would give the same advice as most others have. Give it some time, I know that once I ship an item, I sometimes do not check my email or ebay messages again (some sellers will have a separate email just for Ebay transactions), especially if I have nothing esle pending at the time.
I'm sure it will be fine, any seller that has achieved a rating of (80) will want to make sure they do not get any negative feedback, it is very important to them to keep other buyers confident in them to be quality sellers.

I have bought tickets for Jimmy off Ebay and I will never do it again. The lady I bought mine from had positve feedback too. As soon as I won I mailed the money order to her. She had it within 4 days. And all of a sudden I couldn't get a hold of her. It wasn't until I threatend to report her I finally heard something. And all it was, was an excuse for why she hadn't mail them. I thought I just lost 400 dollars. But about 4 weeks later, I finally got my tickets. But it wasn't easy and everyday I emailed her until I finally got them.

Sounds like you just got a bad one, like anywhere there are people that don't care, but for the most part, Ebay is pretty safe and the sellers really do want to get that positive feedback.
One other thing to check with feedback, is to make sure that it is from buyers and that its not all from sellers. The person may be selling their first thing on Ebay, but may have bought alot and got the feedback from that.
Best bet though, is to use Paypal. Its the easiest way to keep track of your payment, and the easiest way to get your money back if there is a problem. There are other products like Paypal, but Paypal is owned by Ebay, which makes it closer to a seamless transaction (although I hope someday they have a single signon for both apps)...
