Kalik Beer?

My dad just got back from a couple of weeks in the Abacos. He's craving Kalik Beer but he can't find it in upstate South Carolina. I searched online but I'm not having much luck either.

We're heading to SC this weekend and I'd like to buy him a case for the boat ride on Sunday.

Does anyone know where I can find some in the next 3 days?

Kalik is no specialty beer gurgling out of a micro brewer’s basement vat. The Kalik brewery in the Bahamas has an annual brewing capacity of 1.7 million cases, and we’re talking 24's. More than 50% of the Bahamas’ market share is Kalik. There’s enough of a message in these facts alone to suggest popping a tab may be worth something to your taste.

But, of course, as always, there’s a catch. As with any other national treasure, the owner country is selfishly possessive. To have a Kalik , you have to go to the Bahamas. Kalik, you see, is the reflection of a culture, the island culture of the Bahamas, unique in the world even if - as is the case with Kalik, Heineken owns a piece of the action.

Salute' is an Italian restaurant on the south side of Key West.

They always have Kalik in the cooler there. 8)

(I've seen it in several liquor stores in Florida. Maybe someone in the north end of the state could help you out?)

Thanks for the feedback guys.

TRFL - have you seen it in the Tampa area? I'd rather not get it from a website that can't even guarantee it's what I'm getting. :-?

I havent...but I can look for ya. Already went to ABC's (large liquor chain) site and did a search. Came up empty. There is a place in Clearwater across street from original HOOTERS...called

The World of Beer http://www.theworldofbeer.com/default.aspx
2809 Gulf to Bay Blvd.
Clearwater, FL 33759
Phone: 727-797-6905

They show it listed...but no price.

I am on the road in our Kississimmee office tomorrow.... I think they offer shipping but it may be sky high. I could get it over the weekend for ya...but too late for your trip.

It's everywhere here in the Jax area.
When I first tried it I did not like it much of it but when I ordered one in a St. Augustine bar they served it with a lemon and it was great.

We're driving on I-20 out of Dallas through Jackson MS, Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA. You'd think somewhere along the way would have it, but so far I'm not finding anything. Thanks for the info so far, I really appreciate it :)

BTW I'm trying to pull this off as an early Fathers Day Present for my dad, so if it costs a little extra it's justifiable

You can get Kalik at World Market (Where we purchase HoeGaarden)

OK - I've talked to several beer-store managers this morning, and they all confirm the same thing. Kalik is readily available in Florida, but you can't buy it anywhere else.

I did find a store in FL that would sell it to me and ship it to my dad, but it wouldn't be there until next week. That's still in time for Fathers Day, so I might go that route if I can't get it before then...

it's a rather nice beer...I won several drinking contests with it at Sandlas in the bahamas!
