Don't get me started on the blatant disregard for the rules as they are written.
nashville, LA, and florida not only do not deserve a chance, they shouldnt even have teams.
I couldn't agree more. Lets add in Phoenix, Columbus, Carolina and Atlanta.
And Dallas.

If Ice is not present in the winter, the city should not have hockey.

If the owners wallet has more ice on it than the rink, they should be eliminated also. Dollar Bill Wirtz and the Chicago Blackeyehawks need to go to he!! in a bucket also

i dont know troy, the way our winters have been going lately we havent had much ice. we do have one of the best hockey systems in the country though.
i think if hockey isnt played by most high schools in the area then they shouldnt have a pro team. too many teams is what has driven the talent level in the NHL down to what it is today. now we have guys in the all star game that wouldnt have made it out of the AHL in the past.

we have the same situation with the Bruins. a new owner is needed, not a new team.

That is BS Tomm. Hockey Talent is at least 30% better since Eastern European players came into the league.

Ok 25% but only because The Great One was so great.

the top talent is there, i agree. i'm talking about the number of low level players. there are just so many players now and only a small percentage are truly all stars. you have too many guys making it into the NHL just to fill spots.
and as far as the all star game itself, i hate the fact that each team automatically gets to put a few players in. if your team doesnt have all star level players then too F'n bad, they shouldnt get to send token players.

What do you think of the N.A. vs the world format?

i really dont like it, i miss the old Wales vs Campbell games. I also dont like the future stars game in place of the old timers game. we will get to see those kids play for years to come but to watch some of the old guys for possibly the last time was always one of my favorite things.
i've played in a game against the Bruins alumni and it was one of the best moments of my hockey career.

Back in the old 6 team NHL wasn't the All-Star game between the Stanley Cup champions and the All-Stars or am I delusional?

How would we know? You were the only one here that was alive then.

I believe it was Cup Champs vs Allstars. would be an interesting option but not possible with free agency and insurance. Wow, maybe I am that old. I don't remember watching one but I recall reading about in a couple of biographies on the oldtimers.
