Big and Rich

Big and Rich are fakes, frauds and charlatans...a pure production of the musical powers...much like the boy bands of the 90's...how long will they be crammed down our throats???

Sorry I like them. I know they're not popular here but I think they're fun. I wouldn't sit and listen to them for hours or nominate them for the hall of fame but I will sing along to a couple of their songs.
There's a place for groups like them. And in time we may think they're more then we think. If somebody was to evaluate Jimmy based on Cheeseburger, Margaritaville and WDWGDAS, well I know what I'd think.
But I also liked listening to Walk Like an Egyptian, Hey Micky, 99 Red Balloons and any number of silly pop stuff for the moment it was here.

I'm still mad about the "small person" (politically correct term for a midget?) they had on stage at the awards last year. They put in/on a little box and had him dance.
What the heck was up with that?

hmmm....I'm critical of Big and Rich...and now I have a problem with "fun" music???...hmmm...now thats funny...I just think they are a production that some suit came up with..pure hollywood....but I enjoy fun music, but it's all relative...what one finds fun, another finds offensive...I could play you a few "fun" songs by David Allan Coe, Ween, and others...but would they be "fun"?

Brooks & Dunn have a respectable career and many #1 singles.

Montgomery Gentry started off really hot and have become a parody of themselves (how many times can you spin a microphone on stage?)

Big & Rick are trying to "expand" the limits of country music and while I like thier current single, the rest of their stuff makes me ill.

Since I have a choice when turning on the radio or the television I've never really considered any musical act as being "crammed down my throat". If I don't want to hear it I can change the channel. Regarding radio, I finally did get tired of it and switched to satellite. Now I can hear more of the music I'd rather listen to. When I tune into X Country I can rest assured I won't be subjected to Big and Rich, Chesney, or anything that's considered "country" by commercial radio standards these days and that's a big relief.

If you cannot tell the difference between those 3 acts, then you must be a little off kilter.

Agreed. The only thing that they have in common as far as I'm concerned, is that they are all duos.

B&D are in a class all by themselves. I do like a few of the songs by Big & Rich though. I like that they take some chances with their music. IMO, Pretty much everything Montgomery Gentry puts out, sounds the same.

I really agree with this statement. I think B&D are phenomenal. Although I don't like a majority of Big & Rich's stuff at all, I can't fault them for being innovative. IMO, every Montgomery Gentry release in the past few years sounds the same as the one before it.

I like Big and Rich, mostly because they are different. Innovation is not a bad thing. Brooks and Dunn? I have never really liked them. Montgomery Gentry? I like their attitude, their music is written to sell records.

I might not classify them as country but with all the CRAP out there they are breath of fresh air and make me smile... one song I wish I had written

BIG TIME

I play guitar and I sing my
songs in the sunshine
Captain and Cokes and barroom jokes
keep me feeling fine
And theres always a stage and a
beauful babe to squeeze my lime
In my simple way i guess you could say
I'm Livin' in the big time
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.
