In a post elsewhere by Norm Marshall from The Toronto Maple Reefers:
On a side note, I need all of you to get a Conga Line going for one of our
members who just so happens to be one of JB's oldest friends and his 1st Bass
player from waaaay back in their university days. Rick Bennett is in the
hospital and for a while it was touch and go. He has a serious illness which is
being treated in the ICU. When I dropped by to see him this week I was shocked
to see him so gravely ill. His body had shut it all down to help the meds combat
the illness. The doc assured me he could hear and I hope so. Only just this
Friday he has apparently turned the corner and seems to be on his way back from
the edge. Jimmy was in to see him yesterday and, from what Rick's girlfriend
said to us all last night at our party, spent about 20 minutes with him talking
and encouraging him to get well. Please add Rick to your prayers and get that
Conga Line up and running full force. We are.

Jimmy in Toronto
Fantastic concert!!!!
I've been a long time fan of Jimmy and it has taken me over 20years to finally get a ticket (thank god for Ebay!) that was not outrageous in price.
Slick performer and comes well prepared to talk to the audience. I guess because of his historical routes with the Canadian Maritimes he seemed very relaxed in talking about Newfoundland, Nova Scotia etc. He even conversed in French (briefly) and brought in lenny gallant to do a song!
FANTASTIC!!!!
I heard a rumour that he might make a stop in Ottawa Ontario in the future, has anyone else heard this?
