Houston Chronicle mentions JB

Post by springparrot »

From the Houston Chronicle's writer Ken Hoffman:

Mega-entrepreneur

I was shopping for shoes this weekend at Famous Footwear. I bought a pair of ... Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville sneakers. They're cool, like throwback Chuck Taylors, except with a palm-tree logo on the back instead of the Converse star.

So add kicks to Buffett's merchandise line of restaurants, sauces, frozen dinners, Hawaiian shirts, baseball caps, T-shirts and pretty much the whole Sears catalog Caribbean-style.

Nice. 8) Haven't seen those around.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Me neither, but once I tell the wife about them, I'm sure a pair will somehow make their way into our home :D

I tried on both of the flip flop styles...liked the ones with the parrots, but not the palm tree on the bottoms....not to comfortable, for me.

I have the Mens Hurricanes. They are believe it or not the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I love them.

flip flops, get a spare in case you have a blow out

Got 3 pair last night at our local store in The Woodlands...

The display was great... on top of ocean water, were 3 sand islands. one had a tiki bar, like the one on concert stage. The next had a nice palm tree with a neat Margaritaville sign on it... Nice props, not cheaply made.

The boxes the shoes come in are unique. The flip flops come in a narrow box, sideways... all the boxes have a clear window on them and are made to look like bamboo...

The soles of each kind of shoe have something different on them. I can't wait to put my tan sneakers up on the conference table at the next staff meeting.... The soles say MARGARITAVILLE in big red letters under the clear Sperry Top Sider like no slip soles. Very nicely finished... not garish, well maybe a couple of styles were... haha.

I have dibs on the store prop when they are done with it...
