just remember that alcohol boils at a lower temp than water...Brown Eyed Girl wrote:I haven't made them either, Christina, but I *think* I recall LPH and IH and Wayne telling me that you just substitute the alcohol of your choice for the water. Lord knows there are plenty of folks here who make them so you should get an answer pretty quickly.
Watermelon are my fave, but the pineapple jello with the coconut rum were a very close second.
I wonder where they came up with that concept.. it's almost like they know people use their product for more than a means of filling up on whipped cream and canned fruit...AllGirlsChoir wrote:Jello also now makes pina colada, margarita, and strawberry daquiri flavored jello. Mmm mmm good!!

But if you have to have the boiling water to dissolve the jello powder then the rest of the liquid was alcohol.
room temp alcohol, or do you put the bottle in the freezer the night before to make it more prone to jellification?land_shark3 wrote:Where normal jello calls for one part boiling water, then one part cold water; I substitute the cold water for alcohol. That way they aren't too strong and they still gel nicely.

Most of my liquor stays in the freezer anyway. If you normally keep it out of the freezer, just add some ice cubes.RinglingRingling wrote:room temp alcohol, or do you put the bottle in the freezer the night before to make it more prone to jellification?land_shark3 wrote:Where normal jello calls for one part boiling water, then one part cold water; I substitute the cold water for alcohol. Its all about what you like and what kind of jello you are making.MA_Buffett_Fan23 wrote:Use Rum or Vodka?!!?!
Why can't you make them with beer?!?!?land_shark3 wrote:Its all about what you like and what kind of jello you are making.MA_Buffett_Fan23 wrote:Use Rum or Vodka?!!?!
Lemon or Lime jello would probably be better with Vodka (or even tequila).
Watermelon or Strawberry would be good with rum.
If you don't drink it, don't cook with it.
