Guess we're close enough to Center Strip - we're at the Flamingo! Looks like that is just about in the middle of everything!

If I remember correctly, you can buy the passes at any of the stations/stops.

LP is correct. However depending on where you are going, it may or may not be convenient to take the monorail. MGM is a great stop, but remember the monorail runs behind the hotels so its often a hike to get to the station.

It's a considerable walk, especiallly if you've been enjoying the party to it's fullest. Your best bet is to walk down to Bally's and catch the tram to the MGM. Not sure what the cost is, but MGM station is really close to the party zone.
You don't even have to walk to Bally's anymore.....you could catch the monorail at either the Flamingo or at Imperial Palace (on opposite side of the alley).

We took the monorail from Harrah's to MGM to and from the concert. It worked out well for us. The whole thing was full of parrotheads - especially after the concert :D

Ya, and I was one of 'em :D. I bought the 10 buck day pass. While you can get them online beforehand, http://www.lvmonorail.com/, it's just as easy to grab one at the first station you hit. The machines take atm cards too.

Thank you everyone for all of the info. Guess we'll wait to get a pass when we get out there - sounds easy enough to get them.
Any plans to meet up before the concert?

I totally agree. Take the monorail by all means. It's a little hike but you'll get there way faster than by cab. Taking a cab in Vegas is a joke. It's gridlock 24/7 (almost).

We we're trying to get to "Mama Mia" at Mandalay Bay (from the Flamingo). We were almost 45 min. in traffic on Paradise..the BACK way...going thru parking lots..alleys...etc.
The cabbies are all on prosaic or some sort of anti-depressants ...seriously...or they'd all be slitting their wrists.

My hope it that one day they build a mega- subway/monorail from the airport. That taxi line at the the airport is easily a mile long...Ahhh, we can dream can't we!!

All that being said...I still love that town!!!

Phins uP for VEGAS!!!

No colors here yet. I hear they're going pretty good up north though.

Dat's a good question!
Hmmm... I'm guessing high 70's during the day...50's at night...but don't be fooled...bring a sweater or "under-armor" or the like.. 'cause that high desert wind at night will go right thru you this time of year. :-?

Actually, 70 sounds pretty warm to me now - what with todays weather in the 50's - but what it is now is what it will be at night in Vegas! I can deal with that! :D :D :D

While it's on my mind....

The (coherent) members of our group will be attempting to start the WAVE just prior to the concert. Our problem is that the attention span of a parrothead at that time of the evening is like a nano-second or less...

So the plan would be to have all coherent (& incoherent) BN'rs in the crowd periodically look to section L204 for the cue for the upcoming wave action (big banner letters spelling out W-A-V-E , if we can get it thru security) so we can again aid in "lathering the crowd into a frenzy"..like it needed anymore lathering. Think TIDAL WAVE dudes!!

That might be a bit difficult as most people are standing at that point already?? I'm not sure how good a wave would look when no one is sitting down to begin the process?

Deano you must end up in the high rent district- down on the floor- where perpetual standing (as we all know) is a Parrothead's God given right...

Now in the cheap seats the protocol goes something like this..we sit (scream, yell and do the wave) until "Hot, Hot, Hot" starts up...and THEN we stand for the rest of the show...PH manners and such... well at least MOST of the upper deck is sitting til then.

So that being said...we need all the cheap seaters to help out on the wave
during OUR sitting period... and the lucky ducks on the floor will be standing and wishing they could participate... yes, the wave is coming!!!
