Trader Rick,
We're on the floor, but we'll be checking out your section for the start of the wave! We're usually on the lawn and that is where all the fun is, but we decided to spring for the floor this time - did luck out and get seats in Sec. D row D - pretty close up! Hope we're with a good group! We'll do out best to get our section to join in doing the wave prior to the concert. Sounds like fun!!!

Last April we were partying on the floor as well. It was great! Truth is it really doesn't matter where you're sitting... parrotheads will work their magic and Jimmy will come through as usual....can't wait!

The (coherent) members of our group will be attempting to start the WAVE just prior to the concert. Our problem is that the attention span of a parrothead at that time of the evening is like a nano-second or less...
So the plan would be to have all coherent (& incoherent) BN'rs in the crowd periodically look to section L204 for the cue for the upcoming wave action (big banner letters spelling out W-A-V-E , if we can get it thru security) so we can again aid in "lathering the crowd into a frenzy"..like it needed anymore lathering. Think TIDAL WAVE dudes!!
PHins uP for Vegas!!
That might be a bit difficult as most people are standing at that point already?? I'm not sure how good a wave would look when no one is sitting down to begin the process?
Deano you must end up in the high rent district- down on the floor- where perpetual standing (as we all know) is a Parrothead's God given right...
Now in the cheap seats the protocol goes something like this..we sit (scream, yell and do the wave) until "Hot, Hot, Hot" starts up...and THEN we stand for the rest of the show...PH manners and such... well at least MOST of the upper deck is sitting til then.
So that being said...we need all the cheap seaters to help out on the wave
during OUR sitting period... and the lucky ducks on the floor will be standing and wishing they could participate... yes, the wave is coming!!!
HAIL TO THE BROTHAS IN THE BACK!!!!!

I'd have to agree Jagermeister Master. Seems like we're gonna have cheat like the other threads do with innuendo and misleading stories on such things as ...hmmm, best lap dancing in Vegas or what makes the new Hooters Casino stand out above the others on the strip... Nah, too cheesey- but it did get your attention.
The truth is we got to juice this thing up. We are talking Vegas here- not Cleveland.
How about we offer up our best tried and true methods of getting into that
much anticipated Vegas room before noon

. We've honed it down to 10AM!.. A folded $10 bill that you innocently play with as you ask... "we'd like to check in please".... No problem, Mr. TraderRick...
Remember we've Parrotheads- not Seventh Day Adventists. (Please- all my great Seventh Day Adventists friends don't take offense- I'm just trying to make a point.) We're heading into the homestretch...This is gonna be fun...it's VEEEGAAASSSS BAAAABBBYYY!!!

OK, this is to just help the thread going - when is everyone getting to Vegas? And when is the first "official" meeting? Remember, us newbies are just that, newbies!

Greetings exbbmom!!
I would guess a first meeting might be Last Man Standing at Tommy Rockers. Many BNr's have only met circumstantially and travel in different orbits when in Vegas..but greet each other with great hooplah when they finally do find each other!! Seek out SOASOAPT and you will find a group of BNr's for sure.
Look forward to meeting you there..I will do my best to bring a bigger and better lighthouse this time for your signature!!
PHins uP!

I'm surprised $10 even got you in the lobby; it is Vegas you know.

Will SOASOAPT be in Vegas? - We signed him in the Burgh in June. He did seem to be on his last legs then! We'll keep an eye out for him. Will try out best to get to Tommy Rocker's - the other couple that is going along with us are not as fanatical as we are. He comes along with us to the concert every year - she does not! Pretty much think that she's coming along this time just because it's Vegas!
What time do the festivites start at TR's? Maybe if it's early enough, we can get out there. And where is TR's?
So many questions, so little time!

The festivities at Tommy Rockers start around 6pm and will last til around midnite. Robert Greenidge and Michael Utley should come on somewhere in the middle of that timeframe. If you're able to drag your friends over, I'm sure they'll have a great time as well.
The club is not far from the strip at all....Its right across Interstate 15 from the back side of the Bellagio. If you're taking a cab from any of the major strip resorts, it shouldn't run you more than $10-15.
Trust me....this is a party you don't want to miss. They'll be plenty of time to enjoy other Vegas nightlife later in the night. You'll have at least 6-7 hours afterwards before its time to enjoy some runny eggs and strong coffee to get ready for the pre-parties on Saturday!

Yeah, because Drais really doesn't get going until about 3-4am and the Bellagio doesn't serve breakfast until 6am. Not that I would know anything about either of those.

dean,
Thanks for the info! Being that it starts at 6, that would give us the opportunity to do that and other stuff later - PERFECT!
Are you connected to the Parrothead Club, or TR's?

I am the Vice President of the Las Vegas Parrothead Club.....and have gone to the parties at Tommy Rockers for many years (even before I moved to Las Vegas!)
If you decide to make the event, I guarantee you'll have a great time (and your friends will as well!).
Hope to see you there!

You'll have to look on the floor though to find him!
