we didn't make it that far up virgin gorda, but everyone told to go to Leverick Bay instead. the general consensus is bitter end is snooty and expensive, while Leverick Bay is more partyish and like the rest of the BVI's

I thought it was great, we used a mooring, took the dink to shore for an evening of steel drums and drankin'. One of my favorite anchorages in the BVI.

I've never been but did a lot of research for my upcoming honeymoon. Bitter End appears to be not so much of a resort as a great place to go if you are a sailor or into boating.

Sailors I've spoken too who have been rave about it and the quality of the marina services and especially the sailing school. I know you can only get there by boat, no roads leading to the place.

If you're not into boating, the other two fancy resorts on Virgin Gorda are Biras Creek and Little Dix Bay.

We've stayed at Little Dix Bay (on our honeymoon) We did a package that included both Caneel Bay and Little Dix.... Both of those places are spectacular and saying you spent your honeymoon at Little Dix Bay never fails to get a laugh :P

We are intrugued by all the excursions and availability of boats to get to beaches and snorkeling spots at Bitter End.....

Little Dix is one of our honeymoon stops. I was interested in Bitter End for the same reasons you are, but I don't trust my sailing skills. One wrong turn from there and the next land you'll see is Africa!!! I'll be content sailing a hobie cat around Little Dix.
