I was just looking at the next 2 weeks of scheduling and there is no concert replays scheduled. Is this now a thing of the past or a mistake on their part? I have not heard of them discontinuing them. If so please inform me.

Thanks and Finz Up!

I believe I heard after last nights show a mention that there would be a replay this week.

But as to what show, I have no clue.

I really hope they do continue with the replays.

I thought I heard something this morning that the Mansfield Concert that started the Concert Broadcasts on the original Internet RM is being broadcast today at 8PM EST.

Radio Margaritaville did say in a email I received that most of the programming they had will eventually make it back including replays, Feats at Five, etc.

out of curiousity - I'm not a Sirius customer - whats the reason behind progamming changes since the recent colllaborations with Sirius...

Was Sirius trying to "improve" programming or something to "make it more appealing to the masses"???

What I believe thru emails I received from them, was that they just wanted to get "on-line", figure out the kinks and then start to work in the old programs with the new programs they have lined up. They have announced that one of the new shows is being hosted by Savannah Jane.

RM was based out of their studio in FL and could have possibly (and it would only make sense) moved to the Sirius Studios in NYC. That could be the one of many reasons for everything not being like it was before the collaboration, but it is just speculation.

In order to program the station for Sirius all the music needs to be on the servers in NY City. Using an ISDN line set up in the Orlando Margartiaville Cafe can program the station remotely. The delay is actually getting music from Feats on the servers and full concerts uploaded as well.

This has been dissapointing

So far, RM on Sirius is a dissapointment to me. I get Sirius with my DishNetwork subscription and Channel 945 (Tropical Breezes) plays alot more JB than Radio Margaritaville! I was going to get Sirius in my new car, just because of RM, but now I am having second thoughts. I sure hope the programming gets worked out soon.

Radio Margaritaville has never been the "Jimmy Buffett Channel"...and that is not why/what RM was originally developed for. :pirate:

Other than the delay getting the concert replays (I heard one this week) back on the air, it seems RM still plays as much (read "little" to some folks) as before.

I am pretty happy with it...and once they get all the "regular programming" re-established, everything should be groovy 8)
