I love summer rain

Post by OceanCityGirl »

Here at the shore it's been gorgeous for a lot of days in a row. Today a true summer rainy day. Warm, raining and clean out. Surfers love rainy days. Son who is a lifeguard spends it in the guard house playing poker. I"m acutally going to clean my hopelessly messy college daughters room as a big favor to her. She's such a good kid and has done me a couple favors lately.

The smell of wet grass the morning after it rains. Takes me back to when I was about 7, playing in the yard during summer break. One of my most favoritist memories.

haha. They love it when you do that here in my dry little town. The police were actually watching the corner to see if the surfers were showing any skin while changing. Some ladies complained that there was nudity in their parkingl lot.

Don't the cops have doughnuts to eat or something? They should work in Atlanta where they worry about REAL criminals, you know the ones that are single passengers in the lane you are supposed to have two or more or pull over some speeding car doing 11mph over the speed. They never get the really wreckless driving ones.

Nude in this town wouldn't even turn heads in some areas!

in the summer we get a big group of rentacops. They are high school seniors and guys on waiting lists to get on police departments. They come here and practice on tourists, and unfortunately locals.

Send us a few showers from Jersey, OCG. I love summer rain, too. Just make it clear for Canada Day on Friday and your long weekend, too! :D

You want some rain? PLEASE Take some of mine away!! We have had well over 8 inches since Friday night here! AND GETTING MORE right now! it is raining HARD!

It is my understanding we are under a floodwatch until 8 PM tomorrow, I THINK that is what the weatherman said....BLEEP might even get stuck in my own yard. I already have more than enough water to float my jonboat or kayak....in my backyard!

I am concerned about the citrus trees!!! To much water will cause the fruit to split!!!
Roll with the punches, play all of your hunches...come what may...

Why do people from NJ call it "the shore" instead of "the beach", like we normal people do?

He did. I think he is from Red Bank if I am not mistaken.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

When springsteen was young he couldn't afford the parking fee in redbank. He's from Asbury Park, hence greetings from. As a highschooler my gf's and I used to cruise around there trying to see Bruce. We would also go to the Stone Pony when Southside Johny was playing hoping he would do a walk on. Tons of Jersey folks have Springsteen siting stories but alas not me.
Believe me, It's the shore.

I'm surprised they haven't started rationing water---it is only a matter of time.
