TOo bad I'll be in Vegas this halloween weekend (I HOPE!!!!!!)... I'm sure I can still find an excuse to dress like she ra! She rocked my world when I was growing up.. I used to have the she ra figurines and everything....
Oh! And Popples... Someone probably already mentioned those...
And Rainbow Bright! I was her for halloween one year!

Oh yeah... an original boombox... that you HAD to carry on your shoulder with the speakers right in your ears while listening to Kenny Loggins singin the theme from Footloose or Aerosmith and RunDMC tellin us to Walk This Way

How funny! I was just in a stage production of Footloose a few months ago... And am in the process of choreographing another stage production of it right now!

I guess it's all in the perspective. Like I mentioned earlier, back in the 70s there was disco but that doesn't mean that's
all there was. I never cared for any of the country bands you mentioned (to each their own) but there was what Steve Earle has referred to as the "great late 80s roots rock scare" when himself, Lyle Lovett, Dwight Yoakum, Foster and Lloyd, and Nanci Griffith were actually getting some airplay on commercial country radio. Unfortunately mainstream tastes proved differently and the country music equivilent of hair bands took over in the form of Restless Heart, Sawyer Brown, Diamond Rio, etc.
