Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor retires and with Chief Justice Reinquist with one foot in the grave this should be an interesting rest of the summer in DC.

Don't tell me the ending. I'm still catching up on late-night reruns on UPN.

Won't be a hard core conservative IMO. Why do you think that Sandra went before Rehnquist?

Being on the Supreme Court is a lifetime appointment. Maybe, like Thurgood Marshall, Rehnquist intends to serve out his term.

Well the last Roe v Wade type vote was in 1992 and it was 6-3 so even if Bush gets a hard line conservative in O'Connors spot (which won't happen) there is still a Pro-abortion majority. A overturn of Roe v. Wade is almost non-existent.

I'm not sure that pro-abortion is the wisest word choice in this scenario.

I think it is a shrewd political move. Let the "moderate" go first so that Bush can nominate another "moderate" like Alberto Gonzales. Then when the Demotards try to block him "After he has already sucessfully passed 2 nominations" they are p*** off the fastest growing, and probably most sought after demographic.

This will lead up to the mid-term elections. Who wants to p*** off the hispanics going into an election cycle???

I think it fits perfectly. Why be PC? Let's just call it how it is.

Pro-choice, I really don't want this thread to turn into a melee about abortion.

I just don't think that debate needs to be here. You have no idea what I prefer.

There was no debate. I was just saying I prefer the straight to the point language that UAH was using.
