i wouldn't stay at fort recovery....lambert beach ..maybe...
there's a place right in town...casa maria...close to everything, but you will have to take a taxi to the other side to see cane garden bay/brewer's bay..but then again the good beaches are on the other side...not in roadtown.
Eat at fat hogs in fat hogs bay..you'll pass it fromthe airport probably...make reservations though...and no its not a snotty place...they just stay very busy!

don't forget to stop by bomba's...especially if there is a full moon...great party with 'free" tea.... :)

there are some great places on Virgin Gorda...
white castle on jost van dyke - great bar - Foxy's- and they have a wonderful food fest onthe weekends.

The first time I went to the BVIs was on a Windjammer Cruise and I fell in love with them. I agree that one should visit the "Baths". I would also suggest Jost Van Dykes as a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world.

As for activities for keets, well, other then hiking, swimming, exploring, beachcombing, sailing, biking, playing on beaches and just being a kid, there's not too much to do.

I would say the worst part of visiting the BVIs in June is that it tends to be hot and humid however you haven't hit the serious rainy/hurricane season yet which is good.

My 11 year old daughter loves the BVIs, especially the beaches and the people.

Any particular reason that you wouldnt stay at Ft Recovery? From everything I've read, it sounds like a fantastic place to get away from it all.

Just got back from the BVI! Had a great time but man is it hot there in July! :o

We stayed at Bitter End Yacht Club this time. Tons of stuff to do there. They had several trips going every day or you could take boats out on your own. However, we had a tendency to be a little too busy because we didn't want to miss anything. Hence not much "down time"

To the person doing the Windjammer, you will LOVE it. We did the Windjammer in BVI in August a few years back. It was super.

The Mandalay was in port in the North Sound on Tuesdays while we were at Bitter End. They have an agreement with the "Sandbox" bar there...

Do all the snorkeling trips you can while there...it is super...

We stayed at Cane Garden Bay for a few days before the boat took off....I'd recommend doing that. Was a really fun place...

If Steve says try the rum.. TRY THE RUM! :D

Tortola is one of my favorite places on Earth.

When I lived on St. Thomas (many moons ago), we used to sail there, almost always mooring at Cane Garden Bay. My avatar is Cane Garden Bay. The atmosphere at Quito's bar on the beach is fantastic.

If you dive, organize a trip out to the wreck of the Rhone. We used dive it quite regularly and it's an interesting dive.

Have a great time!

I've never seen Foxy's close, except for hurricanes. I've been there when he was off island but the bar was open, it's always open.

I'll be arriving in Tortola on Oct. 15th, staying at Fort Recovery. If you're there at the same time, maybe we'll have to meet up for a couple of boat drinks. :D

I have been there a few times.

We rented a catamaran and sailed around the islands when we have been there. Can't beat that.

My favorite places are Jost Van Dyke. You have to go to Foxy's. Also, you can't pass up the Bomba Shack. It is a must see.

Soaper's hole was a great overnight dockage.

So many good places...

waiting to go back.

oooh! Lucky you! We did the BVI on the Flying Cloud just before Windjammer retired her. I think Mandalay is doing BVI during the summer now. We sailed on her out of Grenada. Lovely Boat. And the BVI cruise is super.
