Buffett Dangerous to Your Health!

Months ago we lucked out with tickets for Wedneday night at Tweeter Center. We are some of those people who go all out with decorations, food and fun in the camper area in the parking lot.
We decided to make a lighthouse for this year's decoration. I was in the garage Sunday, Father's Day cutting 8 foot by 4 foot pieces of styrofoam to make the base of the lighthouse. As I was carrying one of the large pieces I slipped on a scrap like it was ice, fell and broke my femur.
The talk of the emergency room was about the lady who fell making a lighthouse for a Jimmy Buffett concert!
After surgery to repair the femur and a few days in the hospital, I was off to a rehab center where the tale from, "A Salty Piece of Land," continued. I was shortly nicknamed "Margarita" by the physical therapist team.
The sad ending of this story is I missed the concert! Don't you think Jimmy should send me tickets to next year's show as a get well token?
Be careful, friends. Preparing for a Buffett concert can be dangerous to your health!

buffett is bad for your health... the day after the concerts it feels like my liver is on auto pilot and my head got hit but a cement truck, than there are those people who put gas on their grill and lit themselves on fire, thats bringing your buffett partying to a whole nother level of danger

Oh EM, I share your pain! I broke my tibia and fibula while in FL after the Tampa show...literally pulled a Margaritaville and broke my leg twice...had to fly on back home!
Didn't think there was any way possible I was gonna make it to another show. Had to pass up a couple but thanks to the loving care of an awesome group of BNers, I did make it to San Jose, pink cast and all (and I even decorated my cast for the event!).
It's been 4 months for me as of yesterday, still not anywhere back to normal but with 3 1/2 to 4 hours of PT 3 days a week I'm getting there. You'll be back to your old self too before ya know it.
Someday we'll meet and toast our broken legs and unbroken spirit!

Hang in there, my friend. Heal quickly and fully.

The funniest sign I have ever seen at a JB show was in Nashville a few years ago. It said, "Come Monday, we'll feel like s***!"
EM, so sorry to hear this. Best wishes for as speedy and painless of a recovery as possible. And, hopefully, you'll get a chance to make one of the shows in August to make up for the missed show.

I think he should definitely send you tickets after what you went through. I hope your leg gets better soon! That's terrible. You should write a book about it and other "Buffett adventures" while your healing. Making the lighthouse was a great idea. Sorry to hear you got hurt in the process.
What happened to Brown Eyed Girl?

Sorry, reread the posts and saw Brown Eyed Girl's reply. How did you break your leg?
You sure are having a long recup time. For me, no weight bearing for 6 weeks. I have this machine that bends the leg for you. All you have to do is lay there and adjust the number of degrees. My kind of exercise! PT coming to the house 3 times a week.
Like you it will be a long process. But it WILL get better I keep telling myself.
Good luck to you with your recuperation too, Brown Eyed Girl!
Everyone else -- BEWARE!

Isn't the femur the strongest bone in the body? It must have been quite a fall!!! Next time be more like BEG, fall after the show!
