From the Myrtle Beach Sun News: "Buffett flies into MB to greet staff at his Margaritaville"
http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/mld/my ... 063499.htm
Buffett made a visit to Margaritaville on Tuesday morning, surprising the staff and a few customers dining at the Broadway at the Beach restaurant in Myrtle Beach, according to a restaurant manager.
Buffett, who's known for surprise visits, went through the restaurant's kitchen and mostly interacted with the staff, said Joe DeLuca, assistant general manager at Margaritaville. He told staffers he'd be back in the fall, he said.

That is an excellent question...
What on earth would he go to Myrtle Beach via Sumter for? Airport at MB could handle whatever he flew, I'm sure.
Says he'll be back in the fall.....maybe on a Gamecock football weekend...to visit his pal Steve Spurrier. Spurrier did go to JB's Columbia show.
Maybe he was golfing in Sumter with Darth Visor....

missed by THIS much...
Ate there thursday. One of the bartenders told me of his visit. Maybe Jimmy can do something about the 5 hour wait to get in!!!

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

We missed him by 2 hours
We went to Parrotstock about a month ago and I was very surprised to hear that he had not been to M'ville or CiP in Myrtle Beach since they had opened. We went to M'ville last Tuesday and our server told us we had missed "The Man" by 2 hours. Oh well, "some day I will" (shake his hand and thank him for all the wonderful things he's done and all the great music that is the soundtrack of my life!)

you can't lay on the beach and drink rum all day if you don't start in the morning

When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

5 hour wait
I love Buff-man, but I did NOT and will not wait 5 hours...I was told this by the bartenders and waitresses. We waited about an hour and a half, but by the time we left, there was a 4 hr. wait to get in, and it was 6:30 p.m.!!![/quote]

Best time to go is mid-week, at lunch. Ate there about two weeks ago, at 1:30, and walked right in. Not much of a line when we left either. The crowd was pretty subdued though. Most would not sing along when the waiters were trying to get them to sing-hell-most of them probably don't even know who JB is....
