Having no skim boarded before...combined with being very intoxicated.....the first time I tried, I tossed the board...ran to jump on it...the board stopped dead on the spot and buried itself.....I went flying across the beach and skattered shells....my shoulder/back was F'd up after that
That was my first skim boarding experience. My husband also tried it and had the same experience as you, only he came up spitting out the mouth full of sand that he collected as his face skid across the beach!! ( I think he was trying to make a new sport called skim bellying!) Did I mention that he missed the board entirely?
