Elvis References in Buffett Songs

Post by f2cdlzrd »

The VP of our PHC asked at the last phlocking if anyone could name the 5 Buffett songs in which Elvis is mentioned. I of course yelled out 'Elvis Imitators', but that was the extent of my knowledge. We have our next meeting tomorrow night and there will be a prize for the first individual who can correctly identify all 5 songs. I'm very competitive and would like to win. Thanks for all your help.

ELVIS IMITATORS: "But imitating Elvis is my claim to fame"

OFF TO SEE THE LIZARD: "Elvis up in Michigan or maybe out on Mars"

PERMANENT REMINDER OF A TEMPORARY FEELING: "Is this really Elvis spinning round the ceiling?"

OYSTERS AND PEARLS: "Elvis was the only man from Northeast Mississippi"

One to go...what is it??

"Life is just a tire swing"

On A1A

Line reads: And I've never been west of New Orleans
Nor east of Pensacola.
My only contact with the outside
world was a n RCA Victrola.
Elvis would sing and then I'd dream about
expensive cars, and who would've figured twenty
years later I'd be rubbing shoulders with the stars.
Life was just a tire swing.

Now what do I win???

That would be a tough question to answer without being able to go through the song list!

I get half of whatever you win...right? LOL

Thanks guys! I knew I could count on you. :D I'm pretty upset with myself that I didn't think of 'Life is Just a Tire Swing' & 'Off to See the Lizard' (duh!). Anyway, thanks again and I'll let you know what I win.

Well, we had our meeting last night but the "game master" was absent. I sent her an email with my answers and haven't heard anything as of yet. Hopefully I'll know something before the next meeting (7/21/05). Thanks for asking.
