Although the citizens of KW never really leave...

Authorities issued a mandatory evacuation for everyone south of the Seven Mile Bridge at 4 p.m. Thursday. All mobile home residents in the Keys were also ordered to leave. Lines began forming at gas stations and hardware and grocery stores, as people rushed for last-minute supplies. Some people felt they barely had time to get ready for the storm.

"I'm not prepared for this," said Jan Henry, who lives on a sailboat off Key West. "It's just too early for this. I'm used to preparing my boat in August. None of us is prepared for this."

So much for Gulf Shores dodging a second bullet after Cindy just went thru and did the rain dump...

The Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area is still recovering from Ivan with big piles of debris everywhere. Dennis looks to be even stronger.

Looks like even us folks in TN will see some Tropical Storm strength winds.

I think Ivan was a 4 as well, but my memory is a bit hazy. Here is hoping that Dennis becomes more disorganized coming into the Gulf. The piles of rubble in Orange Beach/Gulf Shores were shocking in March. (we watched a condemned house right next to the hotel get demolished one morning.)

Scroll down about 1/3 of a page and click on Track The Storm...

Just for turds and giggles I tracked Dennis, Charley, and Ivan...no point to this really other than it's about time to stock up on beer and smokes...and go retie the boat.

Be safe. It seems like no time has even passed since the destruction that was Ivan. Nature is so powerful.

well it's going to happen to somebody....I'd feel more sorry for the Panhandle who got HAMMERED last year. The worst we got here was 70mph winds, some flooding and fallen trees....the worst area lost power for a week. Nothing compared to what happened to the FL Panhandle
