Dennis went right over Jamaica. Anyone hear from ToplessRide?

No, but as soon as I get to the office I'll try to call Couples Negril to check the status of the property... Since I don't have Susan's last name, it'll be difficult to check on her specifically.

I know there was a thread a couple days ago asking about her... but I dont think anyones heard anything... I've been watching Jamaica with her in mind as well

I almost just creid just now...the Weather Channel showed a picture of a beautiful day in KW and I just want to "go down and lie beside the sea there," even though I know its about to be slammed.

The Weather Channel just showed the projected path and I think the worst of Dennis will miss KW unless Dennis takes a hard right turn.

I am surprised she hasn't checked in with us if she's back . .

maybe they picked " the box Jay has on his table " and got to go to another resort . .

It depends. They could be higher on a hill and not have as much a problem.
Unfortunately, I'm not entirely familiar with this Couples resort.
I'm a San Souci fan.

yeah... I was watchin them board up the shops this morning on the LiveDuvalStreet webcam...

with regards to the resort sending guests someplace else.. doubtful. our honeymoon trip had us split our time between 2 resorts. hubby and i were on st. john just before hugo came through. one day before hugo hit, we took a resort boat over to the sister resort, little dix bay on virgin gorda. the place was pretty empty but it was off season. we didn't think anything of it. i had been reading in a usvi paper every morning that the huricane was crossing another island in the lower caribbean. there was no mention by any of the resort staff of an evacuation. it wasn't until the morning of the arrival of hugo that a message was sent to the remaining guests of the resorts plan to handle this cat. 5 storm. it was an awful hurricane that stalled over the virgins and blew the islands apart. thank god little dix had buildings that were made out of stone so most of them survived and so did we. we were extremely lucky. when the air space opended and planes were allowed to fly we heard stories from others vacationers on different islands. roofs blowing right off of vacationers hotel rooms. it was quite the honeymoon. hugo was followed by a cat. 1 hurricane and then the day after hugo left, the island had a mini earthquake. needless to say my nerves were a bit frazzled. once you live through a storm like that, you don't f around with hurricane warnings. everybody in the virgins said it wouldn't come their way. live and learn.
for all those that live near the coast, i thought you might like to hear that little diddy.

so with regards to toplessride,she should be ok, but she'll have a story to tell.

Hell... some people left their bikes in the rack across the street... odd... just a couple hours ago that shop across the street from Sloppy Joes was still boarding up it's windows... they were cutting it real close

Good flow of people steaming north on my way to work today. Didn't have to pay any tolls (woohoo!!)

One things for sure, the fishing is going to be great on Sunday after it passes. The reef should be void of boats.

The eye missed Gitmo but they still got some effects from it... I wonder what the "detainies" have to think of hurricaines............and I feel for our troops down there.
