Me too... Reading Harry Potter to son each night is fun! We also read Chronicles of Narnia... just finished The Horse and His Boy. I've heard of the Pendragon books, but haven't tried them. Thanks for the tip!Dutch Harbor PH wrote:I'm with you....not an over the top fanatic, but I enjoy these flights of fantasy......Hmmmm perhaps why I'm a parrothead too.....
Anyway in our house I read to my kids (11yo son and twin 9yo daughters) before bed every night (Yes Every Night!!!). We have read all of Harry potters adventure and are excited about book 6.
Should you be in need of similar books to get your kids (or yourself) interested try the Pendragon Series by DJ Mchale...... also very good reading.....

Not enough to go to a midnight party or stand in line or dress up like a wizard. But i"ve read all of the books and seen all of the movies. I"m looking forward to the new release. If you haven't read them I"d recommend it. They don't feel like children's books. They just read like a well written book.

Sorry, Amazon's a lot more convenient instead of going to the store.captainjoe wrote:Thanks for supporting Barnes and Noble!Ilph wrote:For the longest time, I thought anything with this much fanfare is all hype. But then I read the first book, and within a month had all five of those damn things read. And now, I have the new one pre-ordered from Amazon.
j/k!
