Probably like most people, I've never heard of him. His website bio says he's been blind since birth - http://www.raulmidon.com

That's amazing to me.
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

wow, this guy is absolutley amazing. . from that one song, i'd be willing to say that he's one of the best guitarists ive ever heard.

I like how he sort of fuses Jazz and latin with pop/rock

he reminds me very much of Spanish singer/songwriter/guitarist Alejandro Sanz (probably since they both blend latin and jazz and pop/rock)

I thought that was awesome, kinda reminded me a little of Tim Reynolds. Might have to pick up one of his CDs

When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

HAHA!!! i found the connection!!!

Raul Midon sings background on Alejandro Sanz' "No Es Lo Mismo" (as well as other albums too, i suppose) and he sings background on Julio Iglesias' "Noche de Cuatro Lunas" which contains several songs written by Sanz. I can only imagine that if Midon sings with Sanz and sounds like Sanz, he has been influenced by Sanz

I wasn't crazy about his vocal style, but I've got a lot of respect for his guitar playing.
