Serious question for the Canucks

Not really, but anyway.
What is with the bland food. Everytime I go up there, I go to the store looking for some hot sauce, or maybe some Salsa. And it is nowhere to be found. I have found that you just don't go out to eat at all.
So what is with taste free Canuckia?

I don't have an answer, just a theory. With the bad winters they get up there they'd have to constantly trudge through the snowdrifts on the way to the outhouse if they ate a lot of hot, spicy food.

Maybe in Timmins.
Where I live, people eat a vast array of ethnic and local food - from ALL parts of the world and we surely do not consider a northern Ontario mine town to be representative of the gastronomic variety that other areas embrace.
In my cupboards, the selection of hot sauces ranges from medium to "are you crazy?"

But you can probably get good pasties in Timmins.

I order up my hot sauce from the Ocean Deck in Daytona Beach by the gallon jug. It's called Rasta Sauce and it's awesome. I always make my own salsa.
I have found that most Canadians don't like to eat food as spicy as we do, although they seem to devour Buffalo wings pretty regularly.
I'm from the Niagara area of Canada, maybe my proximity to the US is why I like spicy food?
And Canadians don't eat out as much as Americans. I prefer to cook my own dinner...

I am talking all throughout Canukia. Alberta, BC, and Ontario. (I don't venture into Frenchie Canukia) Bland food seems to be the Canadian theme.

Oh, poor you.

I don't think you have been consulting with the informed when seeking dining establishments. And "Canukia" is seven provinces and three territories bigger and more diverse than AB, ON and BC.
Or . . . maybe our theme is "don't feed Troy any of our good stuff" and he will go home.

Right Tiki! I don't know why anybody would feed him at all ... and don't let him get his paws on the good beer, eh?

I avoid the seriously Frenchie Provinces.
BC has skiing.
Alberta is just to the north of me
Ontario is where the folks live.
I see no other reason to go to Canuckia.

It's bad enough that Timmins is so close to Frenchieland.

a beer in their hand when they said "You try this??"
