We have boobs on American TV, but it's just the dumbasses otherwise known as politicians.

"who the f*** are you"

I've never heard them censor it when I hear the song on the radio. But Steve Miller's Rockin' Me Baby has a line "funky s*** in the city" or something like that and they always bleep out s***. I guess it's OK to drop the F bomb on the radio in NYC but you can't say s***.
Well look at most TV edits. When someone says a**hole. They let the a** part slip but always edit out hole. So I guess it's ok to say a**, but not h*le.
Except maybe on NYPD Blue and The Shield.
I've also heard "p***".
They said c***sucker on The Shield last year.
Was Shane an extra in that episode or something?

Funny you should say that. One of the characters on The Shield is named Shane. In an episode last year they were going after some gay bashers and Shane went undercover (they had him stand on the street corner with a bunch of gay guys in the area where the bashing was taking place). They arrested some guys and when they got back to the station house another detective told him he made a good "undercover c***sucker".

Can’t believe I never caught this, as I’ve listened to the song at a significant volume before, and my attention was focused nowhere else but the music. He must say it under his breath, really quick, or during a noisy part of the song I would imagine for the censors not to pick up on it. I’ll have to give it another listen.

I looked up typed out lyrics for “Who are You” and the f-bomb wasn’t there, but I guess it’s just something that wasn’t initially planned when the song was written that Daltrey has gotten in the habit of doing each time, including the studio recording. Much unlike James Taylor’s Steamroller, where people think the song itself has a “naughty word” in it. It doesn’t, he just happened to have a little fun at the end of a few of the live performances back in the 70s, and one of those live recordings just happened to be used for the Greatest Hits compilation, James’ SYKBH.

Believe me, I'm a Shield FANATIC. They have said worse than that.

Just last week on "Rescue Me", they had a conversation on what was more offensive to a girl, tw*t or cun*t?

God bless freedom of speech and FX.

I actually heard that song this morning on the radio (Steve Miller). It said funky "tricks" not "sh*t". It was kinda different.
Also not to be picking but the song is "Jet Airliner" not "Rockin me Baby :)

Seriously FCC needs to "get a grip". That's one of the reasons I'm thinking of switching to Sirrus when Howard Stern gets started, will be interesting to see what kind of show he's going to broadcasting.

True story, was in Toronto for a convention last year and was able to get a show called "Sex TV" on a local station late night. Reminded me of the HBO series Real Sex in the way it presented its content.
