OK, bear in mind that I'm Canadian and my experience with this term is largely because of TV and movies, but does anyone consider the label "white trash" to be racist? Truly, I am naive about this . . . :-?

It's not considered to a be racist term in my social strata. I don't think it's considered such in the general populace either.

Thanks, Auntie! I always want to know if what I may unwittingly repeat in all innocence could offend anyone.

I don't know that it's NOT racially offensive...

because it wouldn't sound right as say... "mexican trash" "black trash" or "french trash"

But I'm not offended by it.
Considering how many different names people are called, I guess it's just wither or not it's said with ignorance and malice.

20% ????????? how can that be?

You, my friend, have class. You are so not white trash. You are more than likely Democrat, and your place is neat, and there is a good chance you may never drink wine from a box.

However I am NOT a Democrat OR Republican and I have drank boxed wine just not with dinner. :D as a matter of fact the one that makes the best Sangria is in a box by Franzia.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

And if anyone ever calls me a democrat, their credibility is instantly gone.
