Turn of Kenny Chesney, turn off anything country, and LISTEN to Jack. ListenTo In Between Dreams. Listen to the words like you do Buffett. That other stuff, you dont' listen to the meaning behind "She thinks my Tractors Sexy". Some of this stuff has no meaning. Jack isn't jumping on the coat tails of someone else to become famous (like Tim MaGraw), or getting married to someone famous (like Rene Zellwhatever), listen to the words to If I Could by JJ. You should be able to get into Jack as you did Jimmy. Listen, really listen, and then you will get it.

Your plead to turn off Kenny and turn on Jack Johnson (what kinda cruel name is that?) was about as boring as Jack's music

Im retarded I dont know what PWI means

I'm guessing you were calling me a retard, and in your post above, you call yourself a retard. Either I'm in really good company with you, or you are to uneducated to remember what you wrote two days ago.

Now, the last thing I want, or will do (from this point on) is get into an argument with anyone about their views. I have always put Parrotheads in a higher class of people. People that I would love to get a drink with while tailgating at a concert. I've always looked at the people at the concerts I've been to as 30 thousand of my closest friends. After listening to Jack Johnson, I feel he would be one of those people.

In my humble OPINION, I do not feel KC is in that class of artist. I have read numerous posts on this site trash talking JJ. I understand this to be a forum to give personal feelings about different artists. You have seen mine, and I appreciate your response.

Now, I don't feel like I can let this opportunity to pass without telling you that the term "retards" is not politically correct. It is in no way, shape, or form acceptable in any use or place. Try to think about that before you type.

Finally, listen to whomever you want. Tell me what you think of them. That is the whole point of this forum. I'll enjoy each response, as long as its not diarrhea of the mouth.

Not to be nasty, but I don't think we like negative terminology used for those with intellectual disabilities, remember, we are all much more alike than different. I stepeth off me soap box.

a particularly intelligent use of words, considering that all of us are but one brain-injuring accident away from being "retards"......... :-? :-? :-?

since I assume that all BN members are part of "we" here, I have to note that msu#1 sure as hell doesn't speak for me.....

Jack is cool, Kenny is cool, Jimmy is cool, everyone is cool. Way too much negativity in this world. Enjoy, relax, be thankful. Yes, mental retardation is a developmental disability. What is a developmental disabilility you may ask? Glad ya did. A developmental disabilility is an impairment affecting the brain or central nervous system. There are several conditions that fall under the catagory of DD, those being mental retardation, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, and other neurological impairments such as conditions of traumatic brain injury which happen before or after age 21 depending on what state you live in. The developmental disability will be life long, and will limit one's ability to perform everyday functions at a level consistent with those of their peer group. Thanks to all of the parrotheads that support those with developmental disabilities, and those willing to break down a barrier by doing a little teaching from time to time.

i remember not too long ago when i was just a keet and made the mistake of doggin' out kenny chesney... found out quick how some here will jump on you in a hurry but most of our phriends can appreciate a different opinion, but i have also realized that any disagreeing that goes on should be done in the nicest manner possible.

one thing i've noticed about the path that chesney is on right now is not too much different than the one that jimmy went down many years ago, but where jimmy had a very unsuccessful country career, kenny was just the opposite....not to say that kenny holds a flame to marvin gardens though

I don't think he meant retard as in actual card carrying retard, more like a figure of speech.

Jack Johnson is very talented and has insightful lyrics. While Flake and Bubbletoes are good, try Gone, Taylor, Its All Understood, and Symbol In My Driveway. JJ is nice because he is not too similar to Jimmy so when you're looking for a change, JJ provides a laid back attitude but differently. Sometimes when listening to Kenny Chesney's new cd, I feel like I might as well put on JB instead since they are pretty similar. However, I like and listen to all 3.

I've given Jack Johnson a chance both in concert and by listening to his songs on the radio. With all due respect to his fans, the end result is usually having an overwhelming desire to take a nap. I'm all for listening to some laid back music occasionally but not when it induces a coma, some of Dave Matthews' (who he tends to sound like from time to time) stuff has the same effect.

I think the Dave Matthews comparison is brilliant. That's exactly what I thought as I listened to JJ's third CD after I bought it last night. Maybe JJ is an acoustic alter ego of Dave Matthews a la the Chris Gaines/Garth Brooks idea.

Love the CD top to bottom nonetheless.
