Island Trader Motorsailer 40/46' (by Marine Trader)

We are in the process of acquiring an Island Trader and are looking for other
owners. If anyone knows of a message board or on-line group that discusses
issues concerning these vessels, please let me know. (And thanks in advance.)

I had a Catalina22, but a friend had a IT once... nice .....

Thanks, TRF. Unfortunately those are all the twin masted sailboats,
not the motorsailers. "Ours" should look more like this:

Those really are beautiful, though, aren't they?

Was your friend's a ketch or a motorsailer?

Nope. We were actually looking at one in Deltaville that someone beat us to,
so we hunted one down locally and made the owner an offer. Did someone
beat you to the one in Ft Meyers?

OK, guys... I'm reviving this thread because Slow Boat is finally wet!

She's almost exactly like this one:

and with a price at about half of that listing, I guess a year's worth of effort has paid off!

She's starts her "maiden voyage" from her home of 4 years in Fernandina to her new home in Jacksonville
at dawn Sunday. And so begins a new life chapter! (See Buffett quote below...)

I keep telling my wife I want a sailboat for Christmas, but she just blows me off....

but it's just too exciting (and scary, actually) to keep it to myself. Maybe next

I think I'd like to, but Mr. D says he can't see it, and he's the boat guy!
I think it's just the idea that you have to get rid of 98% of your junk to
pull it off, and these guys can't seem to part with any of their gigantic
drill presses or their 1001 wrenches! I dunno if I could do without the
ease of a handy washer & dryer, but I'm willing to try. And I'd have to
find some affordable internet access...
