Oh, now this begs some clarification. Just the bold part, Rick.
oh now I see it. Sorry it was a generalized statement based on the average type of woman that gets abortions. Sorry if you take offense to it, not meant to be offensive to women. It's just based on geographical, income and other things that GENERALLY hold true.
Oh Rick. I think we need to ummm, not go there. And afterall, this thread is supposed to be about Roberts and not sentiments regarding abortions. I really like you WAY too much to even go there with you.

Shall we just call it good?

Just saw Bush and Roberts on CNN. Everybody was smiling.

AND...

I REALLY didn't mean to offend anyone and if you talked to me in person about it you'd probably understand my statements much better.

Is it overly sensitive to ask for clarification of a sweeping generality? To me, it is just about making sure that one understood a statement.

well my point was I wouldn't have to clarify if people weren't so overly sensitive. That's all.

I'm most certainly NOT overly sensitive. I wanted to make sure I understood what you were saying before I tried to respond.

I think we can equivocate the issue of abortion to the Terri Schaivo issue a few months back regarding how passionate people are about their position. Once I made that realization, it made sense to just try and drop the issue, because it got ugly. Real ugly; and I'm not about to put some dear friendships at risk simply because I want to say how I really feel.

It's not overly sensitive to have the sense to know better.

That's what I mean by overly sensitive. We can disagree. The only reason I had any "attack" verbage to you was because it just seemed out of character for you to make such a statement from lala land. Usually your thoughts are more your thoughts. Not some lame quote by someone that hates men.

You just pinned my ***** meter. And I am not overly sensitive. You got statistics to back those statements up?

If you're not in favor of abortion don't have one...***** with my or my partners ability to choose to do so and we're going to have a major problem!

I do also agree that if men could get pregnant abortion would not only be a non-issue there would be store front clinics every 2 blocks!
