Duck In closing appearance?

I've heard rumors that Jimmy might show up at the Duck In in Virginia Beach sometime before they close the doors for the last time on August 14th.....anyone know anything about this?

No idea, but he mentions the place every year at Nissan. This year he mentioned the impending closure.

Yeah, I remember him mentioning it last year.
Hmmm....guess I might just have to spend a lot of time there for the next few weeks just in case ya know?!

I live a block away from the Duck In. I
HATE that they're closing to make way for yet another condo! My husband and I had our first date there and I spent many Wednesday and Friday evenings at the beach parties. There's no other place like it! When it was first put on the market there was talk of Jimmy buying it and converting it to a Margaritaville. I guess an agreement couldn't be reached - probably had something to do with the city of Va. Beach
Anyway...I do encourage anyone to come and visit the place for the last time and watch a couple of sunsets on the bay from the gazebo. Everyone is hoping that after the condos are built that they stay true to their word and still allow the public on the beach there. Doesn't matter to me, of course, by that time I'll be a Floridian
A bunch of people are coming into town on August 6th for the Parrothead Club of Tidewater's Music By the Bay (featuring the Calypso Nuts and Jim Morris and the Big Bamboo Band). The venue for the show is a very short distance from the Duck In and a lot of us plan to spend quite a bit of time over that weekend at the Duck In. Come join us!!!! We have about 75 tickets left. Yep. Thought we were going to loose it a couple of years ago when Hurricane Isabel hit but it stood strong.
