Yeah those volunteers play a powerhouse like UAB(Ha Ha) and have to take the next week off. What a hit the Big 11 took! 
My Wolverines offense stunk it up against Irish......ditto for the Hawkeyes in Ames Iowa........and the Buckeyes blew too many chances against the Horns.
This week's cudos go to the Clemson Tigers who clawed out another one....The Horns who were real road warriors this weekend.......The GameCocks of South Carolina who put up a mighty fight at Athens....and
last but not least the 'Dores of Vanderbilt.....WOW Lets give some love to Vandy and get their butt in the top 25! 
Big one this weekend is obviously the Vols & Gators.........Vols didn't show much the opening weekend so tough to judge coming into this game. Experts say Vols have the talent edge but being a Michigan fan I know talent doesn't always get the "W"!
Because Vol fans will never forgive Michigan's Charles Woodson for stealing their boy Peyton's Heisman Trophy in '97 so they dislike the Wolverines I can say easily say Go Gators!!

That game may cause a civil war in our family-Iowa City is my home town and my sister teaches at Northern Iowa. Whatever. If sports won't cause a family feued, politics definately will.

NCAA adamant about players sitting out transfer year
Division I basketball and football players from schools closed by Hurricane Katrina will still have to sit out for a year if they transfer to one of the many colleges that have offered admission, NCAA president Myles Brand said Tuesday.
The NCAA said last month that it would bend some rules to help students and schools deal with the hurricane, including letting students compete without attending classes.
But during an appearance at the University of Rhode Island, Brand said the only rule the NCAA would not bend was the one that requires Division I basketball, football and hockey players to sit a one year if they transfer to another Division I school. In other sports, Division I athletes can transfer and play immediately at another Division I school if they receive a release from the original university.
Brand said the decision was made because the members of some teams, including at least one from Tulane, planned to transfer together to one school. That could lead to the new school taking the entire team as its own, Brand said.
"Let me call that athletic looting, to be provocative, and we won't stand for that," he said.
Some coaches at hurricane-affected schools in and around New Orleans had complained to the NCAA that coaches at other schools had tried to raid their teams and recruit their players, NCAA spokesman Wally Renfro said.
Renfro said the NCAA expects many hurricane-affected schools to continue to compete this year -- even if they don't have classes.
Other schools affected by the hurricane include LSU and New Orleans.
The NCAA has eased some other rules, including those prohibiting athletes from taking financial assistance from outside sources, and those that require students to be enrolled full-time at their college and university.

I find that kind of hard to believe. I have been to Columbus wearing the other schools colors, and have been to many Big 10 games where OSU was the visitor. In most cases OSU fans were among the better behaved I have been around. I was in Bloomington at the IU vs Ohio St game last year for dads day, and there were more OSU fans than IU fans. We were in a sports bar after the game and several OSU fans bought us a round since we were cheering for Purdue against Michigan.weirdo0521 wrote:Anyone go to the Texas Ohio State game? Cutting over the middle into the end zone, Hamby was open when Justin Zwick's pass bounced off his chest and into the air. He had a second chance to grab it but was slammed by a defender just as the ball touched his hands.
A touchdown would have given Ohio State a 10-point lead in the third quarter. The Buckeyes ended up settling for a field goal and eventually lost 25-22 to Texas.
"I can't think about it too much because we still have a lot of football to play," he said as the ninth-ranked Buckeyes prepared for Saturday's game with San Diego State. "I'm not going to lie. I think about it some times. But you've just got to move on."
A senior from Cincinnati, Hamby said he had a sleepless night after dropping the pass.
"I just came open and, I don't know, it all happened so fast," he said. "I knew I caught the ball and it got knocked out of my hands. I was kind of laying there thinking, 'Man, I wish that didn't happen.' But it's part of life and you've got to deal with it."
Asked about the content of the letters, Hamby said, "I'm not going to talk about them, but they're just dumb things. You almost want to say, 'You know, in the scheme of life there are things going on around the world. It's just a game."'
Several of Hamby's teammates supported him Tuesday, saying that there were plenty of opportunities to win the game regardless of what happened on that one play.
"It kind of makes me upset that people would do that to him," linebacker Anthony Schlegel said. "I don't see them out there."
Hamby said he was doing his best to forget the play -- and the ugliness of the fans.
"I've thought about it and stuff and it's hard, but you've got to deal with it," Hamby said. "I've got my teammates, coach [Jim] Tressel -- everybody's behind me. So I'm not going to worry about it. We've got San Diego State and we've got to focus on that."
