sorry, C.S.-we can't be on the same side all the time
(Besides Purdue sent your Bears Orton ... I think we're even!
btw ... I think ABC sports has a new video for "the Agony Of Defeat" - that football sailing by the head of Brandon Kirsch (and out the back of the end zone for a friggin' safety)

Is anyone feeling sorry for my Maize & Blue or Oklahoma yet?
On second thought, don't bother answering that question!
These 2 teams are great examples of preseason overhype.
Just don't have confidence in the Michigan "D". That doesn't surprise me but the Michigan "O" hasn't executed as well as they should have and that's why they're 3-3.
Having said that, still confident we'll beat Penn State this weekend!
GO BLUE!!!

It's not all that surprising to see PSU as a 3 pt underdog in this game. This will be a tough one at the Big House with a UM team that has its back against the wall. But, if we play smart like we did the past two weeks, put lots of pressure on Henne and have another game with 0 turnovers, then Penn State gets the W.Dr.Corona wrote:Is anyone feeling sorry for my Maize & Blue or Oklahoma yet?On second thought, don't bother answering that question!

As HAWKEYES, we are ALL bowing in humilition to the Boilermakers. THAT was the one game we were all sweating this year. Even more so than Ohio State and Michigan. Yesterday in Iowa City people were walking around in utter disbelief. The general consenus is "Can you believe we beat them the way we did?"z-man wrote:As a Boilermaker, I bow in utter humiliation to the superiority of the Hawkeyes.
Stupid Boilermakers!
Also-rememer, before your coach arrived, the Boilermakers had several consecutive losing seasons. He's pretty much turned that program around, and, more often than not, that team is now a force to be reckoned with.
NOW everybody here is saying since we beat the Boilermakers, Michigan should be a cakewalk. I would never say THAT, and, in fact, I smell our home game winning streak coming to an end on Oct. 22. (IF we beat Indiana THIS Saturday). We shall see.

9 undefeated teams left!!!
Now would normally be the time that I would start my annual rant about why one of them is ranked only, say, 23rd, but this year, they seem to be getting it more than in the past. At least no teams with 2 or 3 losses are ranked ahead of any of the unbeatens. There are 4 1-loss teams that are ranked ahead of some of the unbeatens. Usually, this number would be in the teens.

Clemson 31
NC State 10
Now THAT'S more like it! (Why didn't the Tigers play like this against Wake Forest?) It was nice to have all of my fingernails in tact this morning for once.
Hopefully, the Tigers are back on track to finish strong this season. The past two years, they've won five out of their last six games....hopefully they can pull it off again this year.
Oh yeah.....Clemson FINALLY broke their Thursday night game losing streak, too. Yay!
Next up: Temple <snicker> (Don't think that one will be too much of a problem.)
GO TIGERS!!!!

The Games of Oct. 15th........ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!
Although I didn't get to see any of these games (just the highlights) because I was at the BIG HOUSE watching the Wolverines pull out an unbelievable thriller against Penn State, what a slate of barn burners and stunners or near stunners. USC rallies against N.D., Seminoles going down to Virginia, Wisconsin getting a gift against Minnesota, UCLA coming from way back against Washington State and winning in OT, ditto for West Virginia against Louisville and prevailling in 3 overtimes, Boston College coming from way back early and then rallying late to beat Wake Forest, Bama winning on the last play of the game against Ole Miss, Oregon State upsetting Cal.....and on and on.
That's why I love
college football so much!!!!!
Oh, and Sparty lost again!!!!

Definintely a great game day for college football. The West Virginia game was so exciting -although it was overshadowed by several other great games - i'm glad it made the highlights!Dr.Corona wrote:The Games of Oct. 15th........ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

Surprised that with 2 monster matchups in the SEC we're not hearing from Bama or Vol Fan or LSU/Auburn fan.
Something tells me Tennessee pulls the upset as does Auburn.
Wolverines at Iowa.....no idea what to think about these 2 teams. Iowa has gained confidence at the expense of Illinois, Indiana and Purdue the last 3 weeks while Michigan hasn't been able to win 2 in a row all season. Think Michigan will have to get the running game (200 yards or better) going to win! Sparty hosting N'Western.....this noon kickoff game might turn into a night game before it's over. Final score Sparty 77, N'Western 66!
