Well Vanderbilt gave us all we can handle. It was a fun game to be at though. Back and forth all game, and the crowd was crazy. This Vandy team is nothing compared to past Vandy teams. Now next week its off to Knoxville for me for a showdown with the Vols. Spurrier returns to Knoxville should be fun.

Should have been correct on both predictions........but I wasn't!Dr.Corona wrote:Surprised that with 2 monster matchups in the SEC we're not hearing from Bama or Vol Fan or LSU/Auburn fan.
Something tells me Tennessee pulls the upset as does Auburn.
By the way.....saw an ad in the Auburn school paper want ads......WANTED:KICKER ASAP!!!
Also an ad in the Tennessee school paper.......WANTED: RUNNING BACK THAT DOESN'T DROP SOMETHING ONCE HE GETS IT IN HIS HANDS!!!!

It will rectify itself very soon. Texas' next three games are Oklahoma State, Baylor and Kansas so their strength of schedule will take a big hit. I would bet by next week (I've seen OSU play. There is nothing like good football and, believe me, OSU is nothing like good footballCaptainP wrote:So nobody has mentioned the BCS????
USC....hasn't lost in nearly 3 years...ranked #1 in all 3 polls, yet in the BCS, USC is #2!!!
Nothing against Texas, but come on!!!
Besides, what USC did last year or two years ago shouldn't matter in this year's polls. I'm not saying that it doesn't, just that it shouldn't.
BTW, speaking of polls, this weekend will be the first time since 1962 that Oklahoma and Nebraska play and neither of them is ranked.

Well put BRP.......no need for anyone to get their shorts in a bunch about their ranking at this point in the season. Let it play out until the end and alot of the ranking issues sort out. Having said that, controversy is what magnifies the attention directed to the games! Love It!!!Big Red Parrothead wrote:It will rectify itself very soon. WOW what a game last night between us and UT. I was at the game and had a great time. The Gamecocks have never won at Neyland and it was a awesome feeling to finally walk out of there with a win. I will say that all the Vols fans that we met were great, and the UT band is awesome. Spurrier seems to be working his magic for us. GO COCKS!!!

I think Clemson's game against GA Tech last night was one of the ugliest games I have ever seen....for both teams. It was hard to watch. I don't know what's up with the Tigers this year--so inconsistent. I hope they can turn it around and lay a good butt-whoopin' on Duke next week. Have to get revenge for last year's humiliating loss.
I went to bed before the UT/S. Carolina game was over last night....UT was up 12-7 (or something like that). So I was thinking, well, at least the Gamecocks will lose, too. But no.
I'll be back in good spirits by the Duke game on Saturday. Just gotta have a few days to sulk.
As always.....GO TIGERS!

Well thank you for the congrats. It was a big win for us to go into Neyland and win. The team is starting to really come together. Sorry for your loss, like I said at the beginning of the year, I dont wish for the Tigers to lose, cause I want both teams to be at its best when we play. Hard loss for you guys yesterday. I am sure you guys will destroy Duke. We get to travel to Arkansas and hopefully get that 6th win and go to a bowl. I would like to get that out of the way before we play in that emotional game with Florida, and of course the big game with you guys. GO COCKS!!!CUparrot wrote:![]()

It's just against my nature and upbringing. Just makes our loss hurt that much more, since the Chickens won.

Hail to the Victors!!! Big win over MIGHTY Northwestern................but seriously, we're one step closer to the possibility of sharing the Big Ten title.
Funny how this time of year there always seems to be some monster upsets in the making early in games (UT/Okie St., UCLA/Stanford, NC/Miami, M-Terps/FSU) but then the fav gets it rolling and the dog rolls over like a dog! When Okie State had UT down 28-9 I actually told my buddy I'd give him Okie State and 14. Won that going away!
Hokie fan.......next Saturday is your time! Time to make your statement against the hated Canes! Are you fired up??????????

I'm sure that was a great game to go to. And yes, it is a huge win for your team--I think a lot of people (myself included) had written the 'Cocks off again this year. I think Clemson will bounce back and kill Duke. I also think they'll step up and play FSU well....it's at home, and they always seem to play to the level of their competition. I haven't give up hope that we will still get to a bowl. And of course, you never know what will happen on Nov. 19 in Columbia.....but I think it will be a good matchup this year. (I just hope our teams will behave themselves better than they did last year.)PHnSC wrote:Well thank you for the congrats. It was a big win for us to go into Neyland and win. Vols fans rejoice (somewhat). The Randy Sanders experiment is officially over. Fulmer takes over OC duties this weekend. It has been a while since Fulmer has called a game, but it is just an interim situation and we were likely to lose this weekend anyway. It is very likely, and well deserved, that virtually the entire offensive staff will be let go/reassigned at the end of the season.

Keep in mind, either Penn State or Wisconsin will come out of next week with only 1 loss, guaranteed, and each team has only 1 game left. Plus Ohio State is still up there. If you knock them off, it's still Wisconsin/Penn State's title to lose.
For Michigan to win the Big Ten, ALL of the following must happen.
Penn State over Wisconsin
Michigan State over Penn State
Iowa over Wisconsin
Michigan over Ohio State
This leaves Michigan in a 3-way tie with Ohio State and Penn State, and Michigan with the tie-breakers. But Wisconsin being in the mix AT ALL, throws Michigan out, due to the win over Michigan.

Still can't figure out why LSU is ranked as high as they are (6th)....they have a loss to a team that is 3-4!!!
Yet, they are ranked ahead of an unbeaten team (UCLA), and several other more deserving 1-loss teams!!!
FLorida State is another....they lost to a 4-4 team, but are in the top 10 (#9)!!!
Texas Tech did the same (lost to a 4-4 team), yet they are ranked only 16th.
At least 1-loss teams Penn State, Georgia, Wisconsin, Oregon, Fresno State, West Virginia and UTEP all lost to teams with winning records!!!

Wasn't stating that Michigan could get a share of the Big Ten title AND get the conference BCS bid, just stating that if all these teams end up with 2 losses they ALL end up with a share of the conference championship. Not that it means a WHOLE lot this year, but being down in the conference so early this season that would be a nice feather in the cap if it would happen!CaptainP wrote:Not bloody likely....Dr.Corona wrote:Hail to the Victors!!!
