Nope... I assumed DINKIN was like TINKERING... so I figured that out.
They are very similar. Tinkering implies actually fixing something and being productive. Dinkin' is more like, "what the hell am i doing in a garage looking for something" type of activity.
so, then . .it's the same as " piddlin " . .? ?
. . " and I finally disappear . . . . BUT NOT YET ! ! "

Nope. 'Cause that means you're takin' a leak.
oh, dear . .
I'm going to have to stop telling everyone " oh, just piddlin in the yard . ." . . .! !

I'm getting 2 of my pickups ready to sell too. Funny how my vehicles are in better shape when I sell them than they are at any time while I own them
Yeah. I hear you. The problem is, once I have it all painted and stuff I know I am going to want to keep it.
Oh well, I am replacing it with another Cruiser.
In the past 2 weeks, on my F-150, I've fixed the power window, changed the tranny pan gasket, put a whole new exhaust on, and am in the process of eliminating the need for pliers to start it (don't ask ).

It might be one of those double-meaning words. Now that I really think about it, my mom has used the term "piddlin'" very similar to what you are implying.
However, she also let the dog out to "piddle".
I wonder how we can get an official ruling on this.

I have mine sanded down. I am in the process of doing bodywork. Then I have some carpet to replace in the cargo area.
After that I am just going to sell it. I have had this truck my oldest sons whole life. I am going to miss it. But it does not haul kids well, so I have to upgrade.
